Peacock- Farrell

Post by Leisure » Thu Nov 07, 2019 4:16 pm

In the last 3 U23 games we've played 3 different keepers, with none of them being him. Anyone know why he's not being played?

Not enough room on shirt for his name.

He’s part of the first team squad so unlikely to play too often in a U23 game. Not sure why BPF has been singled out when there’s the likes of Bardsley, Gibson and others in the same situation.

I don't think Nick Pope ever played for the U23s or Dev Squad either.
And this was also (I think) the case when Anders Lindegaard was no3.

Think Pope might have played a couple after his injury but it is rare we play the senior players otherwise in the u23s.

Probably because they are closer to being needed. Would be extremely unfortunate circumstances for him to be needed.

I recall both Pope and Long playing for the U23's at Barnfield last season in the same game.

Pope played when coming back from injury. We’ve done that with other players similarly but it is rare for us to play anyone from the first team squad in other circumstances. Dyche prefers to have them play in training ground bounce games.

I do see the OP's point. He does seem to be a goalkeeper that doesn't keep goal.currently. Would his last competitive game have been for NI?

Don’t see the point at all. Was the same with Pope three years ago. I’ll leave our manager & coaching staff to make those decisions and they prefer them not to play in those games generally.

For God's sake, chill. It was an innocent query about one of our players! I wasn't casting doubt on Mr Dyche and his management team's ability to manage!
