Well I think it’s jolly good. Now what has the Bain of the Catholic Church been saying about me now?

Now I’ll just nip to my steve1956 account and answer myself.

True story as regards stairs - genuinely true. Many years ago my uncle bought a bungalow because he was having problems getting out of breath - he'd had the problems all his life, so much so that he couldn't get into the army even when they were desperate. This was around the late 70s I think - my dad (his elder brother) went to look at said bungalow with him AFTER he had purchased the life-saving abode. Upon seeing the new accommodation he was somewhat bemused then asked my uncle, without a hint of irony, if he intended to stay in a lot. 'Why', came the answer from my dear uncle. Upon which my dad pointed out that there were over 30 steps up to the front door (really - I saw the bungalow). My uncle replied, 'oh yeah, I never thought of that.'

No, it's the one where the Americans eventually turn up late in the second series.

You're thinking of the third series - the one where Ham Ouest win the war on their own.
