These roadworks in Burnley

Post by Awayfromburnley » Fri Nov 08, 2019 5:37 pm

From my user name you may have guessed I ain't local.

What impact will these infamous roadworks have for me tomorrow?

I tend to get to Burnley for 1ish and get some lunch and will be coming along the m65 from the west.

Depends where you are thinking of eating

You’ll have to either come off at J10 (Gannow Top) and go through town or come off at J12 (Brierfield) and come in the other way

Try driving in Leeds City Centre at 5 in the afternoon, then you'll have something to whinge about.

But that’d Be a silly thing to do to when Burnley aren’t playing there.

Don't know where you park normally m8 but try coming a couple of Junctions further up as mentioned to Brierfield Junction 12 and head back down into Burnley that way .... its only 4 or 5 miles further round really....

Depends where you are heading for, but rather than go all the way to Brierfield, (and back through it - which can be busy) you can exit at 8, go down the bypass, and down Barden Lane. (V rarely any issues on that route).

Coming from our side we always come through Brierfield and never find it that busy .... but we turn up past the hospital and the Mrs drops us on Belvedere Road Bus Stop near the Cricket Field.....

Heads up to all travelling tomorrow. There are roadworks on here now also. Which made for dreadful traffic today added to all the rest of the works going on.

Heads up to any who use that route on matchday.

Walked up Ormerod road faster than any of the cars moved.
