Outstanding

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Sat Nov 09, 2019 5:02 pm

It starts at the front and with a front two like that we are always dangerous. Shows how much we miss both Wood and his partnership with Barnes.

Bardsleys fight is exactly what we need especially when we need a win.

The midfield were top drawer. McNeils crossing as good as it gets.

And to top it off Dyche and the team for keeping their heads when that goal was disallowed and just beinh relentless.

One of best performances weve put in in years. And at a time we needed it.

Brilliant.

Can't you just enjoy us beating a team that cost hundreds of millions to assemble.

Their striker, Haller, cost £45 million and their winger Anderson cost £35 million..

They didn't even trouble us.

Wood, Barnes, Cork, McNeil, Hendrick, Taylor - some very good performances today and those not mentioned put in some fine performances too.

And were the reason they were so poor. I knew when thag keeper flapped at an easy catch early in we had to test a keeper they have no confidence in.

Dyche unleashed that team selection today and it was perfect. Can see 6 points in the next 2 if we perform like that, Burnley at their best.

Gutted my son and I couldn't be there today as he was ill, but we cheered them on from the TV and it looked fantastic, a lot more mixing it up and some neat passages of passing, but most off all the reading of the game was top drawer. Best game I have seen Dwight had and Ben Mee was immense, but to a man all played very well.

I’d be surprised if we’ve ever registered 12 shots on target in the Premier League before. Excellent from back to front. The complete performance.

The whole midfield worked tirelessly as a unit today.
Every time Wood was caught offside (a lot again) he was flagged, but their (poss) No 7 was yards offside late in the game and the 4th official was caught out of position and missed giving an offside. If he had scored would we be given an opportunity to ask for VAR?

Hendrick was awesome there was multiple men of the match today.

We turned the season round last season beating the hammers. Keep that line up and who knows where we might finish.

And fair play to Dyche for changing things.

We were very good but let's not get carried away, to be honest they were awful, we should have scored at least 5. I'll take the win though it's just what we all needed, oh and that's why SD bought Wood, he showed us what we've been missing, awesome today.

And why Dyche is such a good manager.

Dyche proves yet again that he knows how to get the best out of this team and silence the critics. This is a sign of a team that respects and wants to play for their manager... that was as clear a response as you’ll see to last weeks no show.

Some on here really don’t appreciate how lucky we are.

Just shows the importance of a in-depth squad when you can bring two in and be stronger

Did we not turn things round last season after playing WHU at home. Seem to recall McNeil was outstanding that game too, scoring and made a goal for Woods. These two are quite a combination. Great to hear Jeff played well too Very important win for us-well done team, SD and coaching staff

We were very good should have been 4 could have been 7, though they were the worse prem side I’ve seen since Sunderland. Good to see Wood /Barnes on song and Taylor and McNeil back in tandem .

Joining the ranks of muppetry West Ham were poor. The game played to burnley's strengths long balls and second balls not being contested, The loss of Noble caused WHU to have no midfield general or plan.
We were improved but against a team who competed for the 2nd ball we would have struggled.

How can you be sure that we would have struggled against another team? We absolutely dominated the match against an established Premier League side.

We’ve only lost 5 games this season and all 5 of those teams are currently in the top 6.

There were positives today full backs and Wood being two, The big difference today was no defensive mistakes which built team confidence.
However WHU were the worst team I have seen at home in the past 18 months they were even worse than southampton IMHO.
Our best home performance is yet to come and I have a sneaking suspicion it will be against Man Utd.

We had Kevin Friend as the referee on field and Lee Mason on VAR and still managed to win by 3 goals, that alone shows how good our performance was..

Cricket Field make a very good point.
would have been easy to let heads go down after the Wood / VAR goal was chalked off, however, we kept cool, pushed on and scored again before half time.
Great effort by us!

As good a performance as you are likely to see....however, you would have to say that West Ham are like a pub team at the minute....

We have excellent home form and now need to start nicking games away from home. Watford would be a good place to start.
