I guess it depends on this evening's game, but reckon Chelsea will be on before us, and possibly Spurs-SU. So would go along with 3rd-4th.Tribesmen wrote:I would guess 3rd

Hope it shows how Many chances we actually had and not the usual 3 shot 3 goals type and the. Shows the only 3 chances West Ham had.
We must have had 12 goal scoring chances today best I’ve seen attacking wise from us in a long long time

Sky Sports extended highlights are better for that - on at midnight. Or 'game of the day' if we were to get picked (unlikely).Texanclaret16 wrote:Hope it shows how Many chances we actually had and not the usual 3 shot 3 goals type and the. Shows the only 3 chances West Ham had.

I hope they look at the VAR decisions, and also Ben Mee's disallowed goal, as i still cant see what it was pulled up for.
Re: Match of the Day
I think it was Barnes giving the keeper a little sneeze on his back that disallowed it, although Ben's shirt might well have been in the process of being ripped off before then, will have to check, a weak disallowance all the sameClaretAL wrote:I hope they look at the VAR decisions, and also Ben Mee's disallowed goal, as i still cant see what it was pulled up for.

They'll focus on West Ham's poor show rather than how well we played.

not from the TV he didn't, but the ref did have a word with him shortly before the goal saying he was infringing on the keeper but he wasn't it was their defender trying to stay in between Barnes and the keeper, which the commentator also said.

Definate penalty before the header, shirt was as you say almost ripped off.4:20 wrote:I think it was Barnes giving the keeper a little sneeze on his back that disallowed it, although Ben's shirt might well have been in the process of being ripped off before then, will have to check, a weak disallowance all the same

That will cover the first 4/5 of the analysis but then finish off with a small mention of McNeil and Wood.gawthorpe_view wrote:They'll focus on West Ham's poor show rather than how well we played.

No chance they'll fit all 3 goals AND the disallowed goals in. And if so, it'll miss the majority of our other good chances.ClaretAL wrote:I hope they look at the VAR decisions, and also Ben Mee's disallowed goal, as i still cant see what it was pulled up for.

I was wondering did this even go to VAR and if not why not. I’m even more confused about VAR only questions about it never answers and it’s dominated games all day today Sheff Utd had a big one go against them from what I heard don’t know the details we had 3 not saying they went against us but at least 5 mins of delays in our game. Then arsenal game on now has had one just turned on and it’s all the commentary is taking about getting sick of it now

Re: Match of the Day
VAR is horrendous. Text from mate:
VAR. Doesn’t do anything about our first goal which was clearly a goal kick. Rules out Woods even though the freeze frame shows the ball has already left McNeils foot. Doesn’t do anything about Mee’s goal when replays show it’s Mee being fouled.

Friend clearly pointed to centre spot, so he was happy. VAR must have seen something clear and obvious to overturn. Lately at corners we have been standing between the keeper and our targetman but not moving, legal. I’d be surprised if Barnes pushed anybody, especially now every goal seems to be reviewed.

Re: Match of the Day
Lineker and co. will already be planning to concentrate on the inadequacies of West ham United and will give Burnley little credit for their excellent performance today. In my opinion, a team only plays as well as they are allowed to. Being a footballer is one of few professions where the opposing player is trying to prevent you from doing your job to the best of your ability.

The Ben Mee goal was a stonewall and needless foul by Barnes. He just barged the keeper over. I didn't see a foul on Mee, what would happen with simultaneous fouls in the area?!

Re: Match of the Day
analysis of arsenal (despite losing ) got more airtime than our match, pathetic as usual.
at least we got more than a mumble from the shows resident berk pundits, as wright wasn't on.
probably going to be an hour or so love in next with frank lampard featuring.

Not helpful that motd didn't show it back, but I was eying up Barnes and he pushed the keeper over not long after the ball was kicked.ClaretTony wrote:Not simultaneous. The foul on Mee is first.

Re: Match of the Day
Yeah! weird how they never showed that incident.I found it amusing the commentator praising their keeper for making saves at 3-0 down, after he'd gifted 2 goals away, fat lot of good pulling off shot stops when the game is effectively over as a contest.
Declan Rice was honest in his comments,we bullied them all over the park, and they didn't fancy it,a complete role reversal from last week.

How close was the offside decision for the goal ruled out by VAR? The player in the right back position looks as though he could be playing him onside.
