Up to 9th but table is so tight
Good win today now to carry this on two winnable games next after the break and could see us break away as it’s so tight in the table apart from the top 4.

We just need to keep adding them points, it’s all about the magic numbers

Add on two points we were robbed of at Wolves and one at Leicester both by VAR
takes us to 18 and to FIFTH

7 point gap to the bottom 3 is the important number,Watford,Southampton and Norwich are in danger of being cut adrift if they don't start picking up wins soon.

Except other teams would add points to their own tally too no doubt, in a "best case scenario" where you get all the points you think you deserve!SussexDon1inIreland wrote:Add on two points we were robbed of at Wolves and one at Leicester both by VAR

And we were fortunate to draw 1-1 at Brighton so that was a point gained.willsclarets wrote:Except other teams would add points to their own tally too no doubt, in a "best case scenario" where you get all the points you think you deserve!

Not so sure about that. They’ve got something about them and a very good manager. They could have won today.LoveCurryPies wrote:Early days. Sheffield will stumble soon. Looking forward to the next match now. UTC!

I’m not criticising the manager or team. I agree they have had an incredible start to their season. I’m not saying they will be relegated but simply they will hit a hard patch as all teams do.Blackrod wrote:Not so sure about that. They’ve got something about them and a very good manager. Liverpool almost home and dry, another 2 wins and I think they will be fine

Private browser for the league table? Are you ashamed to be a Burnley fan?

4 points separates 5th and 16th.
Re: Up to 9th but table is so tight
4 points from the next 2 and we'll be all but safe IMO, especially if 3 of those are from the Wayford game.
All about building gaps at this stage.

Almost certainly 37 points will see us safe this season.MACCA wrote:4 points from the next 2 and we'll be all but safe IMO, especially if 3 of those are from the Wayford game.

I think we are safe this season, I really think we will not be sweating at any point.Spijed wrote:Almost certainly 37 points will see us safe this season.
But also I think these next 2 windows are where most work is needed. We need to get the next lot of players in, as the group needs freshening up, and we are becoming quite an old squad. Theres a handful of players that will either be too old or not good enough to be regulars in 12-18 months time, and that's without us losing any to silly bids we cant turn down.

People said that about us when we finished 7th including many Burnley fans, including me.

Re: Up to 9th but table is so tight
Both Burnley and Sheffield United will finish between 10th and 6th - that would be my guess tbh. Good to see unfashionable teams doing well.
Chelsea are doing better than I thought and Leicester doing great. That’s the top 4 in all likelihood but anything from 5th down is obtainable for a less fashionable team. You would expect Spurs to come good but not so sure about Man U or Arsenal, hence the 10th to 6th prediction
