Can't decide if it was an truly outstanding performance from us, or just a good performance from us made to look so outstanding by a West Ham side that dished up a display on par with Charlton during our last promotion from the Championship.

How Pellegrini keeps his job is totally behind me. For a moment, I almost felt angry for the West Ham fans having payed hundreds of pounds to see their millionaire players totally disrespect their club. Then I looked across at the tools on the front row, and I snapped out of it.

Hendrick - 9 so tidy and got forward. Attacked with purpose and linked the play well.
Cork - 9 back to the Jack we know and love
Westwood - 8 good delivery and high work rate
McNeil - 10* immense and unplayable. Tricky, tidy, impeccable delivery. Made sensible decisions. Won free kicks
Wood - 9 superb and ran the line well. We've missed him so much

A great day to be a Claret. Pope & McNeil are in my fantasy league team, so very happy tonight! West Ham were abject, but you can only beat what's in front of you. Another encouraging sign of things to come this season.

You an only beat what's in front of you, but that makes it very hard to score players when what's in front of you is utter garbage. It was from the sublime to the embarrassingly easy, where last week we were the team looking slow, open and sadly forlorn, then suddenly we're blowing expensively assembled West Ham away an making them look like a league one mid table outfit. We were excellent in every position which means the clamour for changes at full back(s) were not unjustified. Well done SD. Unfortunately a great afternoon's entertainment and footy fest was to some extent spoiled by VAR (again). Whether it got things right I don't yet know for sure as I haven't seen, but tbh that's not the point. It took absolutely bloody ages and ends up once again being the thing people are talking about most and that can't be right!

Pope 7 - slightly lower mark as he had relatively little to do
Bardsley 8 - good to see our best right back in the team
Tarks 8 - Haller in his pocket, an assist and distribution much better.
Mee 8 - rock solid and was unlucky not to score too
Taylor 8 - our best left back not least because he seems to combine well with McNeil
McNeil 9 - I was sat right in line with that cross, awesome.
Westwood 8 - bossed the shop in the middle
Cork 8 - ditto above
Hendrick 8 - another good game from Jeff.
Barnes 7 - marked down slightly for trapping off at the ref., constantly backing in or not jumping for the ball nonetheless a tireless effort and a goal.
Wood 9 - on a rich vein of form at he moment. A lot of EPL defenders can't handle him.

JRod 6 not really involved much

Fantastic result and performance. Part of the difference was that we did the simple things right this week, something that was sadly missing at Bramall Lane.

Pope 8-In fairness he didn't have a great deal to do but looked composed.
Bardsley 8-Solid defensive performance
Tarkowski 8-He did the simple things well instead of looking for too many Hollywood passes.
Mee 9-Thought he was outstanding.
Taylor 8-Welcome back Charlie, long overdue IMO
Hendrick 8-Hard working performance in the right areas.
Westwood 8- Busy as ever.
Cork 9-i'm a big JC fan and he had an immense game.
McNeil 9*-Just shaded MOM for me. More like the Dwight of last season.
Barnes 8-Played well and always better with CW along side him.
Wood 9-Showed us what we've been missing over the last few weeks.

Jayrod 7-Not on long enough to make an impact and in all fairness match was already won.

today was how we expect any Claret to perform - great team effort + result that shows great promise!

Pope 8- Superb in what he had to do
Bardsley 7- 100 per center. Exactly what we needed.
Tarks 9- We need the Centre backs to be solid for any performance we give and they were.
Mee 9- Been critical of him recently but superb once again. Much needed captains performance.
Taylor 9- Gives us so much more pace wise and options wise. Been away too long.
Hendrick 7- Good game, just got outshone a little. No shame there though.
Westwood 9- Not often we control the middle of the park as always out numbered, but superb. Best corner taker in the league.
Cork 9- As above
McNeil 10- The best performance by a winger at the Turf I can remember in a long time. Crossing was perfection.
Barnes 8- Back to his best, being a pest and scoring. Link up play could be better though.
Wood 9- A real handful upfront but should of have another 3 goals.

I've waited a couple of days to post these as I didn't want to over react in the moment, but the great feeling is still there now.

What a turnaround from the nightmare of Bramall lane.

I'm not overly bothered how bad West Ham were - the encouraging thing is that we have a team that can take advantage of opponents that are having an off day.
