I think it's equally about the wage saved. I imagine we'd save it until the summer and once other players have left, see what the wage bill is then.

Add DD on (assumed) £50,000 p.w.
It has to stop somewhere, we cannot sustain it.

I suppose if we get relegated the £2m could help offset the £60m fall in TV revenue next season

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We need to sign players that will go into the first team straight away.
It's been 3 years since we signed a regular first team player that is a bloody joke.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
"Might as well" ?? He WILL be saying there is nothing in any Burnley story because there won't be if the noises coming from SD and the chairman are anything to go by. I've already convinced myself we won't be signing anyone in January and that Drinkwater will play a blinder for AV. At least this way I won't be disappointed, that is unless we sell players.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 3:59 pmNixon might as well say there is nothing in any Burnley story

3 Weeks and 3 days left. Just been down to Turf Moor. It’s windy with tumble weed blowing across the pitch and down Harry Potts Way. Not a soul in sight but there is a fax machine engineer van outside the Bob Lord Stand so we are not standing still on the 31st Jan.

With Drinkwater going to Villa could it finally free us up to clinch a deal for Henri Lansbury? Stranger things have happened!

Kyle Walker-peters rumoured to be interesting Brighton, Palace and Southampton on loan (sky sports).
Would do a job for us until the end of the season.

Not going to come here to sit behind Bardsley though is he? Anyone who comes in is unlikely to start before the Norwich FA Cup game.
I would say the most important things to sort first are a Centre midfielder and a Right Winger. I would like to see SOMEONE LIKE Phillips at Leeds (obviously won't be him) and a Knockaert type who could interchange with Hendrick depending on what the game calls for.

Can't we stick with BBC Transfer News, and not who's available and/or what other clubs are doing. When I see this thread has been updated, I get rather excited about us rumoured to be in for someone
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Not sure I can believe this one but if true
then I can't blame the lad.
Be interesting how much we'd get/accept for him and whether
that's why we're interested in the Aberdeen centre-half?

Knockaert is exactly who we should be signing. Isn't he only on loan to Fulham? Might be worth trying to buy him.Goobs wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 5:26 pmNot going to come here to sit behind Bardsley though is he? Anyone who comes in is unlikely to start before the Norwich FA Cup game.

I’m the same. With it being Boro I’m guessing it’s Gibson.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Yes it was about Gibson going back to Boro. There are a few rumours about at present about Gibson being allowed to leave but I doubt it will be before the summer. I don't think there will be any incoming or outgoing transfers in this window and we'll continue with what we have. We'll be able to prepare for the champioship then come the summer windowTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:39 pmI’m the same. With it being Boro I’m guessing it’s Gibson.

Yeah he is, but he seems quite happy there so I'm not sure he'd be a viable option, but someone with that ability and confidence to go past a man like Dwight on the other side.
if JBG could ever stay fit then there wouldn't be a need but I'm starting to worry now that his career is going to be a list of injuries followed by an early retirement.

a few years ago maybe but he has gone backwards - if he was good enough for a Brighton team that couldn't score goals they would have kept him. Potter obviously didn't think he was up to it

Steven Nzonzi is looking for a way out of his loan deal with Galatasaray after he was suspended indefinitely by the Turkish club, Sky Sports News understands.Goobs wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 5:26 pmNot going to come here to sit behind Bardsley though is he? Nzonzi was accused by manager Fatih Terim of being disrespectful in a training session last month and has not played for the club since. However, a source close to the player has told us the World Cup winner disputes Galatasaray’s version of events describing his behaviour as exemplary.
The player signed on a season long loan from Roma in the summer and has a contract in the Italian capital until 2022. Sky Sports News understands that if an amicable solution is found between both clubs then the midfielder would welcome a return to the Premier League.
Okay, he is 31, but short term loan would give us something different in midfield

Good shout, especially as he as already played in the Premier League (which seems to be fairly important to Dyche). I did see he's been linked with West Ham though who i doubt we would be able to match on the wages frontjojomk1 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 5:44 amSteven Nzonzi is looking for a way out of his loan deal with Galatasaray after he was suspended indefinitely by the Turkish club, Sky Sports News understands.

He would improve us and the type of player we should be linked with. Only reservation is the age as we do need some younger players in but in reality will probably need a mix.
