Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
When Leeds were sniffing around, I heard figures of around the 7.5 mark. Even though we paid more, I think it's a case of cutting our losses and from the limit I've seen of Brownhill, and our, let's be fair, average quality in midfield overall, he's more likely to be a first choice starter for us than Vydra is. So overall, assuming there's not much difference in wage (may even be less than what Vydra is on), I don't think it would be the worst deal if it was a straight swap.
However - I've not heard or read anything to suggest Vydra is going to be part of any potential deal anyway. Just a few random comments on social media on how he should be included.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
With Barnes seeing a specialist I'd be extremely surprised if we allowed Vydra to go without being sure we had another striker in the building, and that doesn't currently seem likely. That sounds like social media speculation to me.
I like the look of Brownhill and hes certainly been a long standing target, and his versatility across midfield would be a massive tick in a box for us. 6-7 million sounds too good to be true though - at best you'd assume that would be the down payment with a huge uplift if we stay up/he makes x appearances etc.

All fine there until I saw a few million for Brady and nearly spit me brew out!!! I'm very scathing about what Lennon has to offer, but don't get me started about this guy!!! I'd put him on the train to pretty much anywhere and I'll gladly pay (single!)Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 12:01 pmIf I was doing the transfers Champ manager style.
Brownhill and Eliasson for Vydra and 5 million.
Arrons at Norwich for Gibson and 6 million.
Jarrod Bowen for 22 million
Hart and Lennon wages off the books.
If anyone give a few million for either Hendrick or Brady cash in.

What’s not to like?
He is about to turn 20 Years old and seemingly gaining good reports and plays at right back a position which we need a fresh pair of legs in. Granted i dont know just how good he is, but like injuries meant Dyche had no option to promote McNeil who again not many knew anything about, I think we could do a lot worse than giving the lad a try, at least in cup games to see who he would fare.

Brady is still an international player who we bought for £13 million.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 12:37 pmAll fine there until I saw a few million for Brady and nearly spit me brew out!!! There will be a few managers out there thinking they could get his career back on tracks and would be worth a little gamble at a low price.
It's just how little would Burnley let him go for.
The squad needs trimming in age and wages though.
Anyone not directly in the 1st team thinking (starting or trusted with more than 30 minutes off the bench) needs shipping out.

Nixon surmising that Chelsea's insistance on Gallagher getting game time has already ruled out a couple of Prem clubs...
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
If he's been playing regularly at Charlton why not just leave him there?

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I think this is a good point. Why would he leave one C'ship team (where he is playing every game) to go to another...when there is no guarantees that he will play every game at a West Brom, for example? Why swap Charlton for Swansea? It just doesn't make sense (unless it's a different brand of football, maybe).
Surely the obvious next step would be to go to a Premier League club to test himself at a higher level (even if he's not guaranteed to be starting every game).

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Perhaps Chelsea are stating they want him to play more regularly and are more inclined to loan him to a Championship side in order to get a bit more money out of a Premier League team who want to seal his signature on a permanent deal?

Sounds as if Sheff Utd and Brighton are interested in Brownhill now

Give over, Fretters!
You can't let fact bugger up a good story.
Particularly if it's just another of the continuous running down of the club.

Of the 3 SU is a no brainer atm. Last August it would have been us.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I'm hopeful as he was north west based previously which may come into his thinking, but the biggest factor could be game time. We are crying out for a CM and we have much less competition in that area of the field than other teams.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 5:51 pmMe too. As stated in the first sentence, if doing things champ manager style.

That might be the problem. Comes from Warrington and played at PNE so he knows how bad the North West really is !!!!!!

This is starting to sound familiar
-show interest, make nominal bid, the situation goes quiet, meanwhile it alerts other clubs who know exactly what to bid, then we go quiet and the other club seals it. Hope I am wrong

Agree. If we want something badly enough there’s no point messing around with paltry offers. Agents could sit on an offer though to see if anything else comes in. You’d hope there would be other factors such as training facilities, manager, squad unity etc and not just money but in this day and age sadly probably not.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
He may look at how embedded Cork and Westwood seem to be in our starting line up and what's happened to Gibson and Vydra and give us a swerve on that basis.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Someone on their message board said last April that “he’d be at Burnley this time next year”. Let’s hope that’s a sign it’s a deal that’s been in development for a while and any late interest from other clubs is too late.
Nobody knows what the bid is, or if there is one, so let’s not jump to conclusions. A fair few on their board thought £7m was fair and Bristol would accept it with his contract running down.

It's called seeing things objectively, rather than viewing everything through ridiculous claret tinted spectacles.
Gibson was one of the best players in the Championship, you're extremely stupid if you don't think other players will have noticed the way his career has nosedived after signing for us.

Dyche said when Gibson signed that he was up for the fight to get into the starting 11, and not withstanding his injuries he has not been given a look. It's only natural for prospective signings to be worried about their game time if we come in for them and may go some way to explaining our lack of signings. Especially when you consider it's not just Gibson.

You seem to spend the majority of your life positing negatives about the football club you claim to support.jrgbfc wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 7:31 pmIt's called seeing things objectively, rather than viewing everything through ridiculous claret tinted spectacles.

You’d also be extremely stupid to look at a football club and focus on one player who hasn’t made the first team and ignoring all the others Dyche has signed who have played for us.

Not everyone's carrer has "nosedived" since joining Burnley under this manager. In fact, most have flourished.
Maybe some people are seeing things through 'claret tinted specs' but you are the complete polar opposite.

Dyche's loyalty demands the same of his players. Take Tarky for example, not many would sit on the bench as long as he did but he has ultimately been rewarded for doing so.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 7:40 pmOr maybe he hasn't been good enough to displace one of the current players.....

You are correct to point out that Dyche has developed a significant number of players, they just need to get into his starting 11 plans early.
