You said the fee will be between 10 and 15 million. Anyway in Dyche we trust as I’m sure you’ll agree.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
If only we had a midfielder who could run, eh, Boysie?
Never mind.
Joking apart - last night showed why we don't need to get carried away in the transfer market, and why its so difficult to improve on what we've got - but it also gave us a platform to offer players confidence they're signing up for 18 months of Premier League football. We should be taking that platform.
Never mind.

on a completely different note, I know a few of you have mentioned Aarron Moy - apparently Brighton want to sign him for 5 million, good value at that money it would seem

£10m-£15m means between 10 and 15 million, it doesn’t mean over 15 million, 15 million is the max.
So why are you saying over £15m?

Sorry to interject in your squabble but 'we will pay at least £15 million' implies that £15.million is the least we will likely pay, not the most as you have stated.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I never said we will pay at least £15m, that’s what he fantasised I said. What I actually said was a fee expected to be between £10m-£15m which is wildly different to “we will pay at least £15 million”.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 4:04 pmSorry to interject in your squabble but 'we will pay at least £15 million' implies that £15.million is the least we will likely pay, not the most as you have stated.

Certainly no need to get carried away, as you put it, but a younger central midfielder would be good business in this window.claretspice wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 8:54 am

Am I right in thinking that Westwood is 3 bookings away from a suspension?
Add to that the uncertainty over Hendrick. A new recruit now would have time to bed in, simple this management malarky!

Got to love the fact that you went ahead and posted this whilst we were in the process of beating one of the "big 6" and just days after we beat the team currently sat comfortably in 3rd placeTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 9:12 pmThe only problem with Allen is size. We don’t beat the big 6 because they out muscle us in midfield. Cork/Westwood are more than adequate against the rest. He is still a fine footballer and a better passer than we possess. If we were to go 3 in the middle of midfield he would be ideal.
Agree with most of the rest of what you put btw
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Burnley are considering a move to bring Stoke City enforcer Joe Allen back to the Premier League, according to the Mirror (23 January, page 54).
Is there a player better suited to Sean Dyche’s Burnley than Allen? A hard-working central midfielder with bags of experience and a tough tackling style ticks plenty of boxes for the gravel-voiced gaffer while the 29-year-old's quality in possession will help the Clarets keep the ball more effectively in the centre of the park.
The Mirror reports Sean Dyche made a personal scouting trip to the Hawthorns on Monday night.....armed with half a dozen eggs.

I doubt there is any truth in this. Pope is a great shot stopper and is great in the air but his distribution is not good and is average with the ball at his feet. Dont see a top 6 club coming after him

there's a quote from Tarks on his interview last night - basically implies that they've been told to speed things up from the back, distribution from Pope needed to be quicker - very noticeable last night that Taylor also got forward often and quickly too.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 4:05 amHe's throwing it out more......or at least he did against Utd.......Got us moving forward without Booting it straight back to the other team!

If they bid under £40 million then I'd tell them where to go.
If Pope can get himself some games in the summer for England and have a good World Cup, that 40 could become 50.

Nick Pope has 3 years left on his contract and is an England international, coming right into his prime. Chelsea paid 70 odd million for kepa and there's no reason we wouldn't be looking at a fee near that for pope.

His distribution is better. The top 6 clubs want keepers who are great with their feet (think allison and ederson) and pope always looks nervous with the ball at his feet.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 4:05 amHe's throwing it out more......or at least he did against Utd.......Got us moving forward without Booting it straight back to the other team!

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
In a completely selfish way I hope the big 6 keep looking at our players and thinking they aren't good enough for them as it just means we'll get to keep this fantastic squad together which with one or two right additions could produce yet another season to remember.
Sadly I think we'll be taking in the best part of £150m in the next 6 months on Pope, Tarks and McNeil.
We already have a replacement lined up for Pope (BPF) and there is the possibility that Koiki could replace McNeil. If we can get a young CB in this window (assuming Gibson also leaves and there is no one immediately ready to step up) at the right price then the succession is in place and we can use a good bulk of that money to improve other areas too.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I know they are potentially very good players, but replacing £150m with BPF, Koiki and the like will not help. With all that money coming in, we’d have to go out and sign real quality which will grow into the next mcniel, such as jarod Bowen, who would cost over £20m, but has a great chance of being worth double that within the next few years. Also, I doubt BPF is first team ready at his age just yet, but Pope did it so you never know.Goobs wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 12:18 pmIn a completely selfish way I hope the big 6 keep looking at our players and thinking they aren't good enough for them as it just means we'll get to keep this fantastic squad together which with one or two right additions could produce yet another season to remember.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Sadly, I think we will have to wait 6 years, with the inflation that will bring to achieve sums like that. Not saying they aren’t worth it, but for some reason (maybe the same reason that sees us value players at considerably less value than everyone else) we don’t seem to be able to command the sort of figures that other teams get for their players. I’d be surprised if them three went in the next 6 months for 2/3 of your suggestion. We would see the numbers written down and **** ourselves. I’m ok with it btw.... it helps us to survive. Let’s not forget, the vast majority of the TV money goes in wages and bonuses, leaving not an awful lot for buying in quality.Goobs wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 12:18 pmIn a completely selfish way I hope the big 6 keep looking at our players and thinking they aren't good enough for them as it just means we'll get to keep this fantastic squad together which with one or two right additions could produce yet another season to remember.

I get the impression that Pope is a confidence keeper, at Burnley we give it the players give it as we know our strngths, at Chelsea a team of egotists wouldnt cover his back he would be a scapegoat, is it worth that pressure for an extra few grand a week ? He will be wealthy for life staying here.
