We don’t ‘need’ a wide man. We have McNeill, Hendrick, Lennon, Brady and JBG. It would be nice and I’m sure that position will be on our shopping list in summer but we don’t need to sign someone in that position today.
Looking at that list of names I'd disagree. McNeil and Hendrick are the only 2 warranting keeping. Brady and Lennon just aren't the required standard and there's no point having John Berg if he's only fit once every 5 games. If we wait till Summer we are going to have make around 4-5 signings. I'd rather sign an extra one now and make it 3-4 in summer.
If we don't sign anyone else now then in summer I feel we will need.

Right back (Lowton to go, I'd keep Bardsey on the bench)
Winger x2 (Lennon ooc, ship Brady out)
Striker (Vydra to leave)
Centre mid (If Jeff leaves)
Centre back (if Gibson goes)

Would agree with the above shopping list this summer. Hopefully we’ll get one of the above in today.

Over time, McNeil could take a more central role and a new winger, withpace, signed. You never know!

We have needed a pacy wide man who can beat opponents with ease and supply decent crosses for our strikers
Lennon Brady and unfortunately injury prone JBG don't do this consistently enough
Dwight keeps drifting inside in cm causing a narrowing of our attack and make it easy for opponents to nullify our attack
If we can get Dwight operating wide left in front of Charlie then we will create more chsnces
Get in either the lad from Bristol or the one from QPR that would give us a serious attacking threat
At present QPR are in deep with financial issues and this is s good time to buy
Wait till summer and we have a feeding frenzy which we seldom win

Looks like Bowen to West Ham for £22m. £14m up front with add ons. Maybe we should try and sabotage that one like they tried with Brownhill.

If West Ham had tried to sabotage the brownhill deal, he’d have been a West Ham player by now! Fake news

Not really. Wells was clearly a gentleman's agreement, if not actually part of the deal.

100% agree. Dwight made his name getting down the line and whipping crosses in. Now, as you have said, he is infield more often. Possibly to give Charlie the 1on1 out wide but sadly Charlies delivery is not a patch on Dwights. Let’s get back to how they worked last season.

And nor will anyone else in our price range. You're looking for someone like David Beckham but with pace. The chances of finding a pacy wide man who can beat defenders with ease and cross accurately, but who Man City and Liverpool don't want, are very remote.

I have noticed that. Is it McNeil moving inwards or Charlie taking his Ground?

When Charlie plays we rarely see McNeil getting crosses in and he is better at it than Charlie

Somehow when Erik plays the roles seem more defined ( not that I am advocating he should be picked before Charlie)

Regarding Gibson to Watford, I can only see us allowing this if it's to be turned into a permanent in the summer.

Otherwise, we're loaning a player to help a potential relegation rival (even though I think Watford will have too much) and we also remove our best backup defender should Tarks or Mee suffer an injury.

I know SD often talks about helping individuals, but surely not at the expense of the club.

Wishful thinking on Watfords part. Gibson still nursing an injury and only Long as back up. Not going to happen.

I’m sorry but I’m not having we couldn’t afford that ffs
22mil scheduled for a West ham medical, that was just a leverage tool yesterday stoking up competition, it's worked within a day you've got a 6 million shift & arses have gone into gear, it's standard normal practice with transfers to speed things up & drive the transfer fee to a maximum.

If Watford are willing to stump up £15m it would be a risk worth taking. Gibson was only ever going to replace Ben Mee at left/centre with Long as cover for Tarks. So if Ben picks up an injury we have the players to step in for the rest of the season (Long, Pieters or Taylor).

If Niasse coming in on loan means we recoup some money from Vydra, then why not. I’m sure Oumar can manage 3 minutes at the end of each game.

Good move - he would obviously allow Vydra to move, but as a replacement is faster, more physical and more likely to affect the game from the bench.

Niasse would be a good fit IMO

He works his absolute nuts off, has some pace, and would fit right in here I think.

He would only be back up and possibly only for a few weeks into Barnes is back, and if it allows Vydra to get gone then that's great.

We then can regroup in summer.

How many minutes will he actually get?

Welcome Oumar

Wishful thinking on Watfords part. Gibson still nursing an injury and only Long as back up. Not going to happen.
I may be wrong but isn’t Mee on 4 yellow cards.
