It seems from some of Bentley's tweets that the club are not interested in the dire football being played. I mean I know he must tire of fans being negative (though they pay to be entertained which isnt really happening at the moment) but to tell them they have an option...i.e they dont have to come to the turf is pretty shambolic behaviour from a media manager. The same club that was begging for fans not too long ago and asking for fans to buy shares in the club. Yet now they have megabucks they are not interested in fans moaning.

Isn't Darren Bentley the media manager? How the hell would he be privy to any transfer business?

Not what he’s said to be fair to him.

He said January wasn’t the best time to buy players, IMO.

No suggestion that we won’t be signing anybody.

More UTC drama queenery. Some will never be content, in fact they are probably happier when things aren't going well.

In Bentley's opinion he doesn't expect us to sign anyone. That's doesn't mean we won't and he is correct everyone has an option. I'm thinking of using mine next season.

To be fair he says "I'd be surprised if we spent in January".

He also says "you have an option" to one disgruntled fan which I think is pretty shoddy for someone who's employed by the club.

I have long felt that Darren Bentley should give social media, in his own name, a miss. This latest little episode from him backs my view on that.

No link - but hearing we have made offer to Chelsea for young lad currently on loan at Charlton
Loan till summer with option to buy (not sure whether price of such buy would be set in Jan)

Not saying a bad deal but, if so, would a young guy get on the pitch before Cork and Westwood and if not, how do we assess anyone apart from training and odd u23 match

28 years I have held a season ticket but seriously considering not renewing. Partly due to our negative tactics. Will probably pick and choose matches, no point going on against any of the big 6/8 as we play for 0-0 which I dont want to pay for anymore.....much better things I could with £150 in total roughly for each game. My kids are bored senseless when I take them on and act as if I am punishing them by taking them on. May wait and risk losing seats and just renew for myself but probably wait until i see what efforts the board make in the transfer market. If they dont splash out I wont be. Not interested in pounds spent....just a different approach, we need speed and a sprinkling of youth, even if that is a couple of U23s being promoted.

Love the team and the club but at the moment really not interested which I have only felt once before and that was during the Cotterball era.

Also VAR is ruining the game and I dont really enjoy the game at present.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Premier League trio Aston Villa, Burnley and Southampton are all interested in signing Nice's Adrien Tameze on loan next month.

The 25-year-old has barely featured for Patrick Vieira's side this season. The report claims that the Nice boss is willing to let Tameze leave on loan in January and Villa, Burnley and Southampton could all do with him
..............
According to Fenerbahce journalist Feridun Nigdelioglu, Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley have made official offers to Fenerbahce for striker Vedat Muriqi.

Given that most of that article is predicated on the assumption that Drinkwater is on a full season loan, I suspect we can safely ignore that article.

Our shopping list likely prioritises a new right back (preferable one with pace, because its our major weakness) and another central midfielder presuming that Drinkwater is departing. The next priorityt would probably be a replacement for Lennon/Vydra, but my guess is that that will wait until the summer.

I must admit this is worrying me. One guy in front of me who's been watching us for 40 years isn't renewing. Another to my right who shares a ticket due to work with his son isn't either, all for the footballing reasons that have been debated to death. I can see sone 17-18k attendances next season against less attractive opposition.

VAR is a factor for some and I must admit I think it is another nail in what was a great sport to watch but VAR, the unpunished cheats who fall over in the wind and that includes Barnes, are ruining the game for me too. I mean look at the way Bardsley got booked against Utd for winning the ball. Ashington claret (who knows a thing or two about the game) said it was for endangering an opponent. Well to me each time a player tackles an opponent he is endangering the player and himself!!!!!

What came first, the chicken or the egg.

It isn't easy for a small town club in the Premier league, especially one without a sugar daddy. I can understand the disappointment of the current football, but if anyone's seriously thinking of not renewing their season ticket, they dont deserve to be in the Premier league. A bunch of spoilt kids unable to appreciate the magnitude of what SD and the board have achieved. It doesn't have to be the end of the road, but football is littered with set backs for every club. When the going gets tough, apparently the wussers do a runner.

I have been a ST holder since 1987 and in those 32 years oh boy have I seen some drivel played on the Turf. It is predictable that those who came aboard after 2009 will drift away as this league becomes tougher for us and we continue to win nothing. Not turning up is their choice but will guarantee failure whereas supporting the lads may achieve continued "success" by survival at this level. Relegation is more likely than not to see us a mediocre Championship club if one looks at where teams relegated since 2011-12 are now. Only us Wolves Norwich Newcastle and Villa are back.Regaining a place at top table is not easy once it has gone. More so for small clubs like us.

Not interested if we are in the Premier League to be truthful as I am sure others arent neither. Whats the point of being at the top table and just existing so that we can fill our coffers. We have players on 40k us that can not string 2 passes together.

Dont care about a sugar daddy. Couldnt give a **** if we signed a player for a tenner or 10 million.

This isnt being spoilt......its just finding other ways to spend my money rather than following a team that puts zero effort into entertaining and 100% into just playing for throws and corners.

What a bizarre way of thinking. Wussers? Bizarre choice of language.

Football is supposed to be a hobby, not a chore. If people don't want to spend four hundred and odd quid on a season ticket, that is their right. For many people, it's hard to be so profligate with money.

When the going gets tough? Brilliant. The going has not got anywhere near tough. We are currently having the best spell of many fans' life time as I'm sure 99% of fans agree. That fact people don't want to renew shows that it's nothing to do with glory hunting or being a wuss, it's because staying at home and looking at the league table after the match brings the same level of entertainment as going on the match would bring.

If people said they weren't going to renew, because they found the money hard to come by I wouldnt take issue, but to abandon the team because we struggle to compete financially with other clubs is pathetic. Why bother supporting Burnley at all, if the only thing thats important is we spend money that we can't afford. There are other profligate teams out there much more suited. I haven't been happy with the last few performances either, but stop attending matches because of it !!!!
I would hate to be relying on you in the trenches. If the team are struggling they need our support more, not less. WE used to be the 12th man, what have we become now. Wussers might be harsh, but anyone who deserts the team when they need us most, cant be described as a great fan, or a true one. Teams cant win all the time, they cant play well all the time, but they should be able to rely on us all the time.

I’m fine with the people who are moaning about the quality of football not renewing - absolutely fine.
I have been on hundreds of games watching Burnley where there was a lot lot less than 20,000 people watching us - and to be honest many of them had a better atmosphere.

If this reduces the number of people attending who love to moan every time Hendrick gets the ball, or when we hit a ball long, or whinge because we are not beating some of the best players and teams in the world...then that’s great.

It’s no skin off the clubs nose financially if these people don’t renew...and maybe they will comeback when we are in the championship when Sean Dyche has had enough of Burnley.

Everybody has a choice of what they want to do. Just like people are entitled to voice their displeasure at games - however irrational or unjustified it maybe. We all sit near some of these fans and I doubt whether the vast majority of us would mind if they did not attend.

We coped back in the day without most of current fans . Lucky if we hit six thousand on turf when we were in lower divisions . I have never once given a thought to not supporting Burnley . In fact the worse it got the more I wanted to cheer them on . Coming from Burnley the clarets meant everything to me and my mates . Win or lose we’d be there .
I live in London and have brought up my cockney girls to be clarets . They shout it loudly and proudly amongst their Arsenal and Tottenham mates . They don’t complain ever and are upset when we lose . But give up ? No nay never
