Child flung from car ......
Child flung from car ......
I've just read about a 2 year old child falling out of a BMW X5 at Winfields roundabout, Rising Bridge. The little girl who is from Nelson has very serious head injuries. Who the hell has a 2 year old child not strapped into the car seat at 00.40 am whoever it is should never be allowed to drive again.

Re: Child flung from car ......
Knowing how switched in my nephew was aged 2 in being able to unfasten his belt I’ll give the benefit of doubt for that.
However no reason for not having child locks on the doors.

Ask these X5 or similar vehicle owners as to why they have such a large family vehicle and most would say to protect their little cherubs.

They walk amongst us, and there's plenty of them about.

One of ours went through a stage, for a couple of weeks, of climbing out of car seats. Not much we could do, except gluing their hands together, but child locks on both doors meant they couldn't climb out of the car.

Maybe worth waiting for details of how this incident happened before charging in and blaming the parents. Indicative of the world we live in.

My kids could all undo their seatbelts at 2yrs old
Thankfully I'm not having anymore, the shock when they appear at my shoulder isn't something I want to experience again

We had similar, look in the rear mirror, no child, look again and child is sat in the middle grinning away. Little horror.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:My kids could all undo their seatbelts at 2yrs old

I must admit that I'm struggling to think of any possible mitigating circumstances.Rileybobs wrote:Maybe worth waiting for details of how this incident happened before charging in and blaming the parents. Indicative of the world we live in.

Mate if you think that's bad I almost left Mario wedged in the sunroof while putting the shopping in the back. It was only his feet kicking out that prompted my attention as I drove off at speed. Was able to pull him back inside without even having to take the foot off the accelerator truth is we're living in a nanny state now lads
