I think that he's being very optimistic there.

Reminds me of when Mike Rigg called our January window a success.

all PL fans should get together and chant Fcuk VAR for the entirety of their next games - one of the biggest attractions of the PL around the world is the atmosphere - be very interesting to have the TV providers mute the crowds because of the swearing, Sky wouldn't like it for starters.

Not sure Sky would give a toss to be honest. They still employ people that spit on fans...after all.

I agree that in some instances the long delays are killing the atmosphere. I seriously think that if it becomes compulsory it will turn people away from the game.

This is a classic case of marking your own homework.....Let’s see whether the 20 managers rate it as 7 out of 10 at the meeting this week....Most of the other 20 managers have had subjective ones go in their favour so you never know but I reckon it wouldn’t be 7/10

Crikey, Jeremy Corbyn scored the EU 7 out of 10 before the referendum!

I know it's often said that marking (exams) has got a bit slack of late but 7/10 should generally = "good" (10= perfect, 9= excellent, 8 = very good etc).
If this guy thinks the introduction has been anything like good he is deluded.

Like many, I'm pro VAR but it's introduction has many flaws, most of which are undermining fans' enjoyment and detracting from the excitement of football (whilst not really decreasing controversy around decisions).
Taking into consideration that there's an existing working precedent in rugby, it's been introduced poorly- say 3/10. (I know rugby is a different game with a different flow but it's not a giant leap to take what works well there and apply the principles to another sport).

7/10 sounds about right. 70% success, 30% failure.

He's no judge, I'd have never given him 7/10 as a ref.
