Classic Rock Tracks for Old Farts

Greetings fellow fossils!

This, I hope, will be a music thread containing just Classic Rock tracks. You know the ones, mostly constructed in the late 60s, early to mid 70s, with a driving beat, catchy hooks - stuff that gets us old farts' feet tapping and bodies swaying. No ballads or other soppy stuff here please.

They can be studio recordings or live performances.

Here's a brilliant example:

Golden Earing - Radar Love:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf53Pg2AkdY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(er, OK, the audience don't seem to get it on this one!)

Here's another:

Joe Walsh - Rock Mountain Way

Not to keen on his work with The Eagles but this solo song is a true classic!

Excellent track Boss (not sure I can say the same about the video). Was listening to Building the Perfect Beast from which this track comes recently and it really is a good album and not as much like the Eagles as one would expect considering he was one of the main writers and singers in that band. It's actually very political and critical of the 'American dream'.

Incidentally Henley has an amazing voice and delivers great vocals live despite being a drummer (a very difficult trick to pull off).

Moving Waves was an incredible album with a sidelong track call Eruptions. Jan Akkerman is one of the finest guitarists around but never gets too much mention when people talk of 'guitar heroes'.

If you like good solid heavy rock, give Wayward Sons a listen. A band who I have seen a few times live and have both their studio albums - not a bad song on either of them. And from experience, they are all genuine nice blokes. I saw them support Black Star Riders and Stonebroken last month in Cambridge and all 5 came into the bar after to sign anything, pose for photographs and generally chat to fans about the band, plans etc.

Vocalist Toby Jepson is ex Little Angels, a band I discovered when I saw them support Marillion touring the Seasons End album, the first post Fish release. I don't much listen to Hogarth era Marillion now, but Little Angels and Wayward Sons all feature heavily on my most played list of songs.

Moontan was one of the very first albums I bought,,I can remember going to the pub after i had bought it, in the pub was our football manager at the time, probably about 15 years older than me,he took the album out of the bag and proceeded to completely take the pisss out of the lyrics to "Radar Love"....funny the things you remember
(er, OK, the audience don't seem to get it on this one!)

Bosscat: I saw the Kinks backed by the former Argent rhythm section back in 1981 and they continued to do so, on and off, for long after. The Davies brothers are big Arsenal fans as was Jim Rodford, who sadly died in 2018 after a fall at home.

My daughter who lives down in Poole saw the APFS a few months ago and she loved 'em. There's about 6 of them I think. Apparently one of the guitarists pulled off the second solo from Comfortably Numb pretty much note perfect. Enjoy mate.
