Not had them in years, but remember having them and I agree. They're a shortcut to a heart attack, but they are tidy.claret2018 wrote:Deep fried Mars bars are absolutely delicious
The Shambles Chip Shop (Settle) used to deep fry those McCain 6" pizzas back in the day have to say they were rather moreish too .... He did the Mars Bar and also tried Milky Way's too (worked best from Frozen)FactualFrank wrote:Not had them in years, but remember having them and I agree. Cheers ,I'm staying in the Premier inn close to the SSE!think it's called Charing CrossJeffbfc wrote:It's not far from Sauchiehall Street.
There's all sorts around that area.
A lot of places do deals for what they call early theatre.
Obviously depends where you are staying.

I don't see the point in recommending an eating establishment as you clearly have no taste. ;-]Steve1956 wrote:In Glasgow over the weekend for the Liam Gallagher gig, anyone know any decent places to eat around the SSE Hydro....
With what is on offer nowadays live gigs will soon be a thing of the past,I'm just getting what's on offer while it's still around,it will be a banging gig no doubt, don't think I'd get that at a James Blunt or a Ed Sheeran gig do you ?icu81b4 wrote:I don't see the point in recommending an eating establishment as you clearly have no taste. ;-]

When ever I'm in Edinburgh I go to the Cafe Andaluz for Tapas its brilliant.I wonder if they are connected?Right_winger wrote:Get down on sauchiehall street. Tons of pubs to choose from. Charing X is where all the skirt goes out anyway.
For food I’d recommend going south towards George square on st.vincents street as most of the better eateries are that way. A particularly good one is cafe Andaluz which does Spanish tapas. It’s literally on the corner between George square and st Vincent street. The famous horse shoe bar isn’t far from there either on drury street..
Bier Halle on Gordon street just up from central station is worth a whirl aswell.
Yes they are. Sure they have one in Aberdeen aswellSteve1956 wrote:When ever I'm in Edinburgh I go to the Cafe Andaluz for Tapas its brilliant.I wonder if they are connected?
Yep, I've seen (and met him) lots of times, one of the nicest people you could meet, super friendly and helpful. In fact I've seen him so many times I thought I might swerve this tour, My t-shirt drawer is fullSteve1956 wrote:Sounds pretty good to me,just checked out his tour..25th of May 20 hes performing at the best venue in the north west, the Bridgewater Hall i've earmarked the dates with a visit home to visit my Mum,take in our last game against Brighton and a trip to the Bridgewater Hall
Have you seen him live by any chance?
Just seen John Fogerty is playing with him on that tour, would be well worth going to just to listen to Fogerty.
You're an Aberdeen man arnt you? You do realise he's playing in Aberdeen tonight arnt you?Millertime v1.7 wrote:Will be at the gig mate... Hope to see you there and give you a proper tour of the city

I had my first ever deep fried steak pie in Scotland 30 odd years ago bud and I tried it with trepidation. They are f!ckin fantastic. Even found a chippy in Leyland when I worked there that did them. I never got round to the deep fried Mars bar and couldn't quite get my head around the deep fried pizza. Is there ANYTHING the Scots won't put in a deep fryer?Bosscat wrote:McNeees Chippy..
