It's like teasing a puppy with a ball this...
Anyone else notice... At half time on the pitch -
So many "bum hair" hair transplants.
Rooney with a suedehead

Re: England vs Montenegro
We've not played a single player that can make a tackle and haven't needed to, shows in the scoreline.
Very different when we actually have to defend.

Where's bloody VAR?? Was that not handball by Abraham leading to the goal. Admittedly he didn't mean to, but these days, if it leads to a goal it's not allowed!! (And how daft did he look actually avoiding scoring when he was inches from the line? Weird, but then again I think he's overrated rubbish!)

From BBC text
"Own Goal is now the official England top goal scorer, overtaking Wayne Rooney".
(one for you Frank).

Re: England vs Montenegro
Fullbacks and front 3 we're sorted. And I'd have Henderson in the mid 3 next summer.
But central defence and the other 2 midfielders I'm not convinced. Ox Chamberlain probs one of them.

Yes he’s only scored 10 goals in 12 games definitely overratedDark Cloud wrote:Where's bloody VAR?? Was that not handball by Abraham leading to the goal. England can look the business going forward.ClaretTony wrote:Still not good enough in centre defence though
But a good side would expose that defence.

Yup. It may be a case of if they score 2, we have to score 3, when we go into next summer's tournament.Buxtonclaret wrote:England can look the business going forward.

First time for a long time we’ve looked capable of scoring so it’s a positive step. I still think Southgate could learn from Dyche on a defensive unitFactualFrank wrote:Yup. It may be a case of if they score 2, we have to score 3, when we go into next summer's tournament.

Re: England vs Montenegro
England were efficient and have strolled through the group, however marks remain.
The one time England were tested in Prague they were found wanting, and they'll be at least half a dozen sides at the Euro's with more quality then the Czechs possess.
It's tough to assess Montengro's standard, but on their showing last night i'd say top-end League 1.
Sunday will be a good test Kosovo created plenty of chances at St Mary's,and their attacking style will challenge England's suspect back line.

I'll rephrase that, as it's obvious if they score 2 we need to score 3FactualFrank wrote:Yup. It may be a case of if they score 2, we have to score 3, when we go into next summer's tournament.
I mean a case of we having to score 3-4 goals to win a match.

Re: England vs Montenegro
I think we are now as good as anyone in the world going forward. Last night, without Sterling who has come good in a major way recently, we scored 7 goals, that's a big seven, in the past we haven't done that against the likes of San Marino and Malta. Make no mistake we will frighten some teams in the Euros. Unfortunately we may have to score 3/4 goals a game to win there because teams like France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc are gonna have a field day with our defence. I believe that this team, with the showing in the last world cup as well, has the best chance we have had in years of actually winning something. Despite my initial concern at choosing Southgate as manager I think it is really possible he could turn out to be one of the best England managers ever.
