That is excellent. However rich and however much they struggle for attendances in the CL, that is a great gesture and fantastic PR. Very good idea for whoever thought of it.MACCA wrote:Man City this time.

Must have been sent before Sunday’s result, I can’t see any evidence of teardrops on it.

Not quite as much of a gesture as Barry Kilby's pledge that saw season ticket holders get the price of their seaso ticket refunded but hey ....... still generous

That was an enticement to buy a ST though, probably without any thought it may happen. This is after the event.Bosscat wrote:Not quite as much of a gesture as Barry Kilby's pledge that saw season ticket holders get the price of their seaso ticket refunded but hey ....... still generous

Long way to go.
Re: Top class gesture from another football club
A 4.5 million pound gesture .... and so what if it was an enticement to buy a season ticket .... It was still one hell of a gesture that far out weighs anything the multi gazillionaire Owners of Citeh give after the event to 119 fans.Reckoner wrote:That was an enticement to buy a ST though, probably without any thought it may happen. I disagree - it was an enticement for people to buy / renew with a generous pledge that would be paid for many times over if we did go up through the additional revenue rather than a gesture. And probably made without any expectation it could happen given where we were at the time. It was just a way to try and get a bit more revenue, not sure how many more did renew or buy as a result I wouldn't have thought many - typically there were still people whinging on here when they thought they didnt get their money back quickly enough.Bosscat wrote:A 4.5 million pound gesture .... and so what if it was an enticement to buy a season ticket .... Its not the fact that City can easily afford it, its the fact that they have thought about it post-trip to Ukraine (not as an enticement for fans to go), and created goodwill for those fans and great PR too. fantastic gesture.

Not that I think we do badly - Kilby helped set the tone and I think the board at Burnley are better than any others in the Premier League. Without ridiculous funding they make the right decision most of the time and when you talk to any of them its obvious their intentions are totally correct.

Only 114 supporters traveled to Ukraine?? That's amazing if true. Nice gesture from a club I've come to dislike.
