Ivan Toney
Ivan Toney
League One side Peterborough have placed a £13m asking price on English striker Ivan Toney, 23, who has been linked with Burnley and Bournemouth.
Anyone know anything about this player?

Re: Ivan Toney
Think he was at Newcastle, and spent time at Scunthorpe, always seemed to be on the scoresheet for them.
Must have moved to Peterborough in the summer.
If you cant score plenty as a forward for them you can't anywhere. They're always high scores.
A quick check and his stats are 1 in 4 in the bottom 2 leagues at 23 years old, although more nearer 1 in 2 in the last few seasons

Re: Ivan Toney
From what I have seen he is a very talented player, it's just a question of how well he could adapt to a tightly organised system of play,

Re: Ivan Toney
I've seen him play recently vs Accy Stanley.
He is quick nippy and scored a nice header on the night. However Peterborough are set up to go forward and so he will get plenty of chances. Worth a look but £13m is ridiculous for a tier 3 player.
Their midfielder Maddison looks promising too and is something we haven't got I. E. An offensive minded midfielder pretty much like his namesake at Leicester.

Re: Ivan Toney
As a young striker apart from the money why would he want to come? Barnes and Wood are basically set in stone as our front 2, don't think it would do his career any good at all.
Re: Ivan Toney
Saw him play at Shrewsbury where he was pretty anonymous. He seemed to have some pace, but a poor first touch.

Re: Ivan Toney
Anybody who watches EFL on Quest will have seen him score some screamers.
Strange how that doesn’t equate to doing it at a higher level. Same ball, same goal, only the keeper is of a better standard.

Peterborough seem to have 3 strikers who are all scoring for fun this seasonTricky Trevor wrote:Anybody who watches EFL on Quest will have seen him score some screamers.

Re: Ivan Toney
It’s been pointed out on this thread that you are more likely to score goals for Peterborough than any other team in League One.
They seem to have had a number of forwards who have scored a lot of goals but not achieved a lot when they’ve moved on.
I’m sure many of you won’t remember Terry Bly. He was in the Peterborough team that first joined the Football League in 1960. He scored 52 goals in their first league season.
