Nottingham sign Lancs opener Hameed
Lancs and England opening bat Hameed signs 2 year contract with Nottingham.
One can only wish him well, can Peter Moores succeed in turning him round where others failed?

Re: Nottingham sign Lancs opener Hameed
I'm not surprised he's been signed by another county, the lad clearly has talent, for whatever reason he's lost his way,he was unfortunate injuries struck just when he was establishing himself in the England set-up,but for his and England's sake let's hope he can start scoring runs in the CC.
He'll have to fight to get back into England reckoning though, the likes of Dom Sibley have overtaken him for now.
A change of scene might do him good and different coaches, you don't become a bad player overnight,a few big innings and his confidence will soon return.

Trent Bridge is certainly one of the better places to bat.
Good luck to the lad.

From people I've spoken to, that's been a major problem at Lancs.Local cricketer wrote:Wonder if he is taking his dad with him

Baffling at how he's seemed to 'lose it' after his injury.
Good luck to him at Notts.

Hell fire this is remarkable, in football parlance this would be like Arsenal signing Akinfenwa.
I hope the Notts fans are issued with helmets for home games when Hameed starts teeing off in the T20.

Re: Nottingham sign Lancs opener Hameed
Seems quite a risk for Notts who got relegated & will be looking to get back to division 1 straight away. He's got a 2 year deal there but at 23 (when next season starts) he needs to find some form in this coming season whilst in Division 2 (though that eluded him last season).
Moores obviously fancying his chances of working the magic.

It's also one of the best wickets to bowl on too. Probably swings around there as much as anywhere in the Country.. He will certainly need to get the feet going or his nightmare may just continue..Quickenthetempo wrote:Trent Bridge is certainly one of the better places to bat.

It does swing, but the small boundaries should reward his style of play a bit more. Where he usually plays singles, he could be picking up boundaries.Andreshotboots wrote:It's also one of the best wickets to bowl on too. I think and hope he will get back to the form he showed playing for England when opening with the excellent Alistair Cook
Re: Nottingham sign Lancs opener Hameed
Surely the ability isn't in question? Must be the noggin that he needs to get right.
