May well be a good idea to get him back in to coach our 23s on a temporary basis if this Steve Stone investigation drags on.
I believe he was highly thought of during his time here.

He was highly thought of but he’s managed two clubs since leaving and probably doesn’t see himself returning to U23 football. Andy Farrell is currently standing in for Stone and has been assisted by Ian Jones & Craig Mawson.FeedTheArf wrote:May well be a good idea to get him back in to coach our 23s on a temporary basis if this Steve Stone investigation drags on.

Natives were very restless after that game.
My daft mate had left a Clarets scarf on the back seat and we came back to a bloody great dent in the bonnet of his Datsun Cherry.

I didn’t necessarily mean a formal role, just to keep him ticking over. More like when Dyche briefly helped out on the England U21s coaching staff between managerial roles.ClaretTony wrote:He was highly thought of but he’s managed two clubs since leaving and probably doesn’t see himself returning to U23 football. I’m sure he’s got the taste for management now. Would be interested to know what sort of financial difference there would be between a U23 coach at Prem level vs manager at League 2.

Re: Michael Jolley gone at Grimsby
When he was appointed, the Grimsby board made all the right noises about " moving away from the hiring and firing " culture, and spoke of a " long term appointment " to " build a project " ....
They have struggled over the last month, but had improved on last year ... I guess we don't know the full story, though ..

Eight games without a win and a panicking chairman seems to be the answer.Clarets4me wrote:When he was appointed, the Grimsby board made all the right noises about " moving away from the hiring and firing " culture, and spoke of a " long term appointment " to " build a project " ....

I swear this might be the reason for his dismissal:

Re: Michael Jolley gone at Grimsby
Sportsmail reporting that he " lost it " with local radio reporters from BBC Humberside after the 0-4 home defeat by Leyton Orient last month, and the exchange was leaked onto social media, leaving majority shareholder, John Fenty unimpressed....
" You are a f*****g disgrace ! Every time you interview me, you're antagonistic, confrontational. Who do you think you are, Jeremy Paxman ? The f*****g radio statio gives us f*****g no positive coverage whatsoever ! "

Re: Michael Jolley gone at Grimsby
Just doesn't sound like the Michael Jolley I knew at Burnley but then again I never questioned him on his team after a 4-0 defeat. I am surprised though.

If it was a private conversation, why was it being recorded and did he know it was?
Re: Michael Jolley gone at Grimsby
Comes across like a nice bloke on twitter. Lots of grimsby fans gutted he has gone & Jolley has responded to every single one of them.
