late for my generation but iconic TV for several generations.

It's great how the makers got away with slipping swear words in to the vocabulary of the characters, masked in their whistles and noises. One of the more noticable ones is where a Clanger tells The Soup Dragon to "p!ss off"

No, because Postgate had the words and sentences pre wrote down so that the whistling noises had a pattern to them
