ROI vs Denmark
Massive game for Ireland tonight.
Hendrick starts centre mid with Brady and Long on the bench.
On Sky Sports Mix KO 7:45 for anyone interested.

Yes and if you’re a tight wad like me and you don’t pay for sky sports, it’s free to view on Mix.
Ward and Walters doing the analysis too.

Re: ROI vs Denmark
Can someone explain to me how Ireland can go above Denmark with a win? Their goal difference is far inferior to that of the Danes so is the position in the table based on something else? (At start of play Ireland are three points behind Denmark)

Re: ROI vs Denmark
Done on head to head. Ireland drew in Denmark so would have one win and one draw.Whitgord wrote:Can someone explain to me how Ireland can go above Denmark with a win? Re: ROI vs Denmark
RoI got a draw in Denmark. So the head to head, I think.
Still can’t work out how RoI are through with a win if Swiss win but have to win by 2 goals if Swiss draw.

Shame Hourihane has no right foot, that was a decent chance.

McGoldrick must be the most improved player in many a year.
I believe we’ve been linked with Browne but on this showing he’s a long way from PL level.

Re: ROI vs Denmark
The Danes are a real bogey team for the Irish, this will be the 6th time they've met in the last 2 years, and the Irish haven't won any,the age old problem for the Republic a lack of a goal threat.
At least they've got a 2nd chance in the play-offs.

Hard luck to the Irish.

Re: ROI vs Denmark
His record for an average team was exceptional 68 in 146 internationals, nearly a goal every 2 games, that's impossible to replace for any team, let alone a nation the size of ROI.ClaretTony wrote:That goal threat disappeared when Robbie Keane retired
Re: ROI vs Denmark
They missed the lad Connolly, tonight. Good match. One switch off cost them.

Re: ROI vs Denmark
They had so many crossing opportunities, after Duffy had gone up top but as usual it was pass, pass, pass. When the clock is against you just get it in the mixer.
Docherty had some wonderful positions but his body shape was all wrong for getting that first time cross in. They needed Tripps.

Re: ROI vs Denmark
It amazes me how Ireland get so much praise and England so many negative comments on this forum

Re: ROI vs Denmark
Ref books Schmeichel for time-wasting in injury time and then blows up on a free-kick for Ireland before the 4 minutes are up.

Very rare that a non English referee goes beyond the minutes shown in stoppage time no matter what happens.Stan Tastic wrote:Ref books Schmeichel for time-wasting in injury time and then blows up on a free-kick for Ireland before the 4 minutes are up.
