England U21s. Dwights on(at last)

Post by Tricky Trevor » Tue Nov 19, 2019 2:43 pm

Away to Holland. 5.30 BT1, should be plenty of streams.
Not sure if Dwight is in this squad as it was U23s t’other day.

Cheers for the headsup TT.

This is the only link that I can find so far. Maybe it's a bit early yet.

It was the Under 21s that beat Albania 3-0 and Dwight is in the squad.

If you haven't got I P T V then download the LiveNetTV app and all sports channels are on there.

Including BT sports which it's on live.

Fire sticks are the way to go mate. So you can watch it on your tv or take it anywhere you go.

Should be able to pick one up dirt cheap on Black Friday.

Dwight wasted in CM when we know how fantastic he is wide.

His best attributes are being positive, illusive, beating a man and delivering a perfect ball at least every other time he has possession.

I just can’t see how it’ll work in centre mid. He’s far too one footed.

Possibly. I was referring to the match situation. He does look so comfortable on the ball wherever he is on the field.

They didn't pass to him the last game I watched.
Twice in 5 minutes or so, he was free, the obvious pass, but no.
2nd time I was yelling at the TV in frustration.

It's funny how we see one-footedness as a problem with left-footed players but think nothing of it when applied to right-footers.
Perhaps it's because they are in a minority and stand out... but should it matter?

Fair enough but McNeil is one of the most one footed players of either foot I’ve ever seen.

Bit different in the Premier League though!

He might well be a fantastic centre mid, what do I know. I just love watching him play left wing as he’s a throw back, who has that brilliant deceiving can’t be arsed gait with a wand of a left foot.

Those of you think he's not suited to CM, you know that's always been his natural playing position right? McNeil may be about to beat a man but he lacks pace compared to other wingers in the league, that alone makes him suited also to a CM role. The only reason he's playing out wide for us is because he can whip in a good cross and we had injuries in that position.

He may not be combative or an enforcer and whilst he's got a great cross on him he's great at shooting from range too. If it was CM we were short of he'd just be playing there instead.

I remember a certain Paul Cook who could do similar on his left foot.

Personally I'd like to see both him, Gudmundson and Brady in the same team. With McNeil in the number 10 role.

Hardly got in the game.

He looks slow but has left many 'quick' fullbacks for dead, before crossing.

Wing and moving inside better than starting inside, for me, at present.

the appearance of seeming slow is his greatest asset as we have seen on so many occasions that he leaves established and experienced players looking lost as he breezes past them with apparent ease

Aidy Boothroyd telling McNeil or Foden how to play is comical. He's a League Two manager, and a proper dinosaur one at that.
