The decision doesn't need defending, it is what it is and support of it or criticism won't change anything. What's the happy medium?

Just take the full allocation? It's less than 3 thousand for a game that's an hour down the road, on Boxing day afternoon.

Could have done but not sure that the club will consider the possibility of then having 1000 unsold tickets at a cost of £30,000 to them as a happy medium!

I meant in general theres usually a happy medium, like with transfer policy, wages, targets, ticket sales, ticket options etc.

Lots of people seem to be at either end of the spectrum regards a lot of things.

To be fair its probably the worst ground in the division.

Think I've only had an acceptable view their once, and that was the 1-0 win game

I think the lower tier holds about 1800, with a further 1000 in the upper if we want them. Plenty of restricted view tickets in that lot as well though.

The only options are the initial 1800 in the Lower tier and Paddock, with a further option of 1000 in the Upper.

So worst case scenario is we send back all 1000 extra at an average cost at say £22 ( kids, adults oap )

So could cost the club 22k if all the extra 1000 tickets dont sell

It wouldn't be anywhere 22k, as many more will go if upper tier seats are available, and many will also not want to pre order bottom tier ones.

But I get your point. If there's the slightest chance of saving 1 x £30 from an un sold ticket, or upsetting minimum of 500+ fans it'll be the £30, and rightly so.

If it keeps the record profits up, and season tickets frozen everyone is happy.

( and for the record, I'd put the twix price up more, along with all the other food and drinks )

When you think what the likes of Gibson, Vydra and Wells will be costing in wages for no return whatsoever the cost of a few unsold tickets would be a drop in the ocean for us. We need to get away from the small-time, penny pinching mentality.

Again they could use their credit card if needed, There seems to be an idea that it is the same fans who go to every away game, there are plenty who said they wanted to go to Spurs but have missed out, then there are those who want the ticket system changed as they can't get tickets for away games this is their chance, finally there are those who want to take their kids but can't as they have different loyalty points levels so can't go as they wouldn't be sat together again this is their chance.

Now if the cost of 4 or 5 tickets is too much which for some it no doubt will be then it doesn't really matter when they go on sale.

Great idea, why dont working class fans put BFC first and/or put tickets on a credit card, then the record breaking multi million pound football club can "possibly" save a couple of grand IF they dont shift the whole allocation.

Just read that back again once more.

Another idea which could be better.
Take the whole allocation and offset any potential loss by putting up the kids Christmas party tickets.
Kill 2 birds with 1 stone then.
Either break even or make money

Or put up the premium phone number, and make all ticket office, club shops etc go through it so can make a few pound every time someone wants to contact any part of the club.
That'll be another great money spinner

Considering you think amazon prime is a con as they charge you £7.99 every month if you are incapable of cancelling I am not totally surprised a credit card being used scares you. You do understand that if you put say £90 on a credit card you get a chance to pay it off with no interest at a later date allowing you to have been paid. You can also use a debit card and pay there and then if you can stretch to it.

Should multi million pound travel companies expect working class people to use one for a holiday.

Just so we are clear also you notice I did say there will be people who can't afford it and I accept that. A lot of things come before BFC just adults tend to be able to budget.

A lot of people can, some cant.
A lot may have credit cards, some dont.
A lot of people paid for Spurs so maybe a little less flush.

For anyone intending to go I strongly recommend that you buy your tickets before the end of the pre-sale deadline tomorrow. If we haven't sold out the lower by then then the club will not be taking the top tier.

Either people don't know about the pre-sale or maybe they're waiting/hoping that the top tier will go on sale before purchasing but unless the lower tie sells out by tomorrow then the club won't be taking the top tier. So there could be some unhappy fans with no tickets!

Will decide nearer the time whether to bother, if tickets are available great, if not I'll go the pub and/or watch it with a few beers.

Hopefully those that missed out for Sheff Utd and Spurs tickets can grab some for boxing day instead.

Deadline was dictated by the home club. The deadline is only for the decision to be made as to whether or not there is enough demand to warrant taking the top tier. Tickets will still be on sale after the deadline.

I can recall turning up at places like Barnsley and Boro for Boxing day fixtures and paying on the day. Made it far easier than having to buy tickets 5 weeks in advance, at a time of year when people generally have plenty going on. I still think Everton would sell out if we just sold the tickets the normal way. As it is our small time, penny pinching mentality is probably going to prevent 1000 Burnley fans from attending the game.

On the website it says they are sold out, but it also says they can not be sold until all normal tickets are sold.

The restricted view tickets won't be put on sale until the other tickets are all sold out, which means that we're still a few hundred sales short of selling out the 1st allocation. So not looking good for us taking the top tier tickets.

Just been speaking to my dad.

Norwich only took the bottom tier on Saturday and Everton sold the top to their own fans.
