I think Pochettino and Levy had been in conflict for some time. Levy's a control freak and the manager expressed his displeasure about being marginalised regarding transfers on several occasions.
But IMO they've lost their best manager for years.

Totally agree with that ecc. The whole of football knows how difficult Levy is to deal with.ecc wrote:I think Pochettino and Levy had been in conflict for some time. Levy's a control freak and the manager expressed his displeasure about being marginalised regarding transfers on several occasions.

Re: Pochettino sacked!
It was looking good for a while with poch, but i can well understand the dismissal.
Running 3rd to city and liverpool might have been impressive, but that, plus the strains of champions league have taken their toll sadly.
However glorious an achievement reaching that final was, they lost, and as a manager he hasn't won a thing.
This season has dealt out some poor results too, and behind the scenes it can't have been a happy atmosphere.

Hardly. Pochettino made the club competitive, but it’s time for them to go to the next level and actually win something.Nonayforever wrote:If Spurs choose Jose as their new manager then it will prove Levy has lost his grip on the situation.

Re: Pochettino sacked!
As others have pointed out, Mourinho isn't exactly famous for working to improve a squad or playing youngsters, he's a chequebook manager.
I'm really struggling to see the logic in Spurs appointing him tbh, unless Levy is going to give him money to spend.

“I spoke to the manager about his plans and I didn't get a ’yes’ and I didn't get a ‘no’. So you get the impression. It’s disappointing. Something isn’t clearly right, it’s a combination but starting from the top downwards, the squad needs freshening up & get rid of the deadwood, some might point to poor recruitment.ClaretTony wrote:Understand that but it’s beyond that. To be playing with four players running down their contracts and one of them showing precious little interest in the games I’ve seen, that’s appalling management by someone.

Re: Pochettino sacked!
So how long before he goes his current average of 2 seasons ?
Re: Pochettino sacked!
No I don’t. But this is about where this club is going rather than what they’ve achieved already. They’ve had a great few years have Spurs, and they’ve assembled a brilliant team, but they need silverware to show for it. I think Pochettino had taken them as far as he could.Nonayforever wrote:Do you really believe that Jose could do a better job than Pochettino with no money ?
