Be interesting to see how much money Moanrinho spent in the pursuit of these titles ....

I give him less than 12 months as Levy will not give him the cash other boards did in pursuit of titles and cups.

In fact I can think of "501" reasons Levy won't release huge amounts of cash. ;)

there was an article linked from the bbc that said Mourinho spent the same net amount in 12 weeks in 2018 that Poch spent in 5 years at Spurs

Burnley spent more than Spurs during last seasons transfer windows! It means nothing. All this “he’s only won cos he’s spent this, this team have spent that”. It means absolutely nothing.

Fulham last season spent £100m and everyone expects them to stay up because of it. Yet ignore the fact that the rest of the league have assembled squads for that amount and more.

Chelsea spent ££££££ with Mourniho. So what? They had to compete with an Arsenal side who still had a large number of their invincible and an unbelievably strong Man U side.

He spent big with Utd. But then again Pep spent big also despite the fact he already had Kompany, Silva, Sterling and Aguero. United had nobody.

He spent at Madrid. But then Barcelona were incredible and they couldn’t compete without spending.

There are exceptions but on the whole there is a correlation between spend (including salaries) and performance. Particularly when you look over a longer period. It doesn't mean nothing, even if you highlight exceptions such as Fulham.

The skillful managers are the ones that can raise performances above their relative financial strength. Which happily includes Dyche in addition to Pochettino and others.

If spending money means nothing, does that mean that if Klopp was at Tranmere and Guardiola at Rochdale, Tranmere and Rochdale would be in the Champions League?

Money isn't everything, obviously. As with your example at Fulham, chucking shedloads at it willy-nilly isn't likely to work. But to imply that the only reason Liverpool are top and Burnley aren't is because Klopp is a better manager than Dyche - I have my doubts. Money means a lot. Not everything; not nothing; it means a lot.

Totally agree with what your saying, but from a Burnley perspective do you not think if dyche left burnley, it would all fall apart ?

some of these lucky managers have untold fortunes to use to build their empires, Im not convinced too many of them can be given credit for success. Never utilisiing academy players must be seen as a mistake, just because they often choose to fork out millions for a star player as a gamble, doesn't equate to master tactician.

It will be a very difficult time for us when Dyche does leave. His achievements at our club are phenomenal and he’s done it very much the Dyche way.

Selecting and appointing his replacement will be an even bigger and more crucial decision than the appointment of Dyche himself.

Interesting. It is the Mail which is a caveat...however, if this is true this is just Levy managing him out. Clearly Mourinho has been targeted all season and this is shocking treatment of Pochettino given what he has achieved there...irrespective of the lack of trophies. Levy is not very classy tbh and he deserves Mourinho which will be very interesting when they fall out which is beyond inevitable...
