Todmorden to Burnley Bus Changes
From the 8th December the 589 bus between Rochdale/Tod/Burnley will no longer come as far as Burnley. This will leave the 592 only every hour. It may effect some fans who use the service....maybe worth a look on the wymetro web page at the changes.
Re: Todmorden to Burnley Bus Changes
And the southern part of Red Lees Road loses its bus service.

Re: Todmorden to Burnley Bus Changes
Another good advertisement for ditching our cars in favour of public transport.

Re: Todmorden to Burnley Bus Changes
I used to get that bus to and from work every day for about 5 years, once nodded off after a night shift, woke up and I was half way back to Tod.

Burnley1989, you reminded me of a true story about a Cliviger local known to all as Harpic. He was called that because he was clean round the bend.
Anyway Harpic after a heavy session drinking in Burnley leant against the wall at the bus stop opposite the Wellington pub. The bus driver not realising Harpic was wanting the bus, as he stayed leant against the wall, drove past him. Harpic went back in the Wellie and then got the last bus home. Trouble was Harpic fell asleep on the upstairs of the bus and woke up in the Tod depot, with no one in sight. Realising he'd have to walk home Harpic saw the bus keys were still in the ignition. So he decided to take the bus home, instead of getting a taxi. On the way to Cliviger, he picked some passengers up and gave them a free lift. Being Harpic he parked the bus opp his house and went to bed. In the middle of the night the police were notified a bus had been stolen and officers found it. Knowing Harpic lived opp the parked bus, roused his dad, who said his son was asleep. They got him up and he admitted stealing the bus and disqualified drink driver. The police though, said they were impressed with his parking of the bus.

There was a lad in Horton in Ribblesdale who did a similar thing with a Pennine Bus in Settle late one night about 30 years ago ... mind you he is/was a Leeds fan so its to be expectedBfc wrote:Burnley1989, you reminded me of a true story about a Cliviger local known to all as Harpic.
