If this is accurate then Leicester are doing very well,
and West Ham should ask for refunds

You would think Wolves would sort out someone with an extra few quid to round up their average to something neater

Re: Premier League Salaries
All a bit meaningless without some context. Does it include all professional contracts at a club? If so a lot of low paid youngsters will pull the average right down. Total wage bill and highest salaries would give a better picture.

Re: Premier League Salaries
It was well reported that Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson both signed new contracts in the summer of £100k per week. And we know their total wage bill is quite a bit higher than ours.
The figures make little sense without knowing the basis for calculation - is it the average for the 25 man squad for example ?
When you look at Man City’s team and bench every week I would be amazed if any of them were on less than £100k a week and most are on considerably more (possible exception is Foden)
Wolves numbers could also be skewed by a long list of loan players they have had on their books in the last couple of years where loan fees are paid to the other club and it may be only when they sign permanent contracts they get the big premier league bucks

Salary??? A salary is an annual payment. Poor buggers at Sheff Utd and Norwich are on less than minimum wage.Bosscat wrote:I see the Mirror has us 15th in the pay league....

Posted yesterday by Chester Perry on the Magic Money Tree thread.
Tricky Trevor, all figures in the report are based on financial year end Jun'18.
As for Aston Villa the figure is accurate. Their wage bill to Jun'18 was £73.1million compared to our £81.6million.

Re: Premier League Salaries
A bit more on Villa. Tom Heaton is now their top earner on £42k per week, some way less than our top earners after bonuses. Incredibly Lansbury is just behind Heaton and ahead of the likes of Jack Grealish.

Where was it reported that Fraser signed a new contract? Re: Premier League Salaries
Might have been he was offered one ? I remember reading he was after 100k a week and he had been offered a bumper contract in September.Tall Paul wrote:Where was it reported that Fraser signed a new contract? I believe he's out of contract at the end of this season.
Looks like he has decided to run his contract down and leave

Re: Premier League Salaries
Not sure what it is you don't believe. Villa were a Championship club in '17/'18 with a Wage bill of £73.1m. They had a total of 535 full-time staff including 185 players and coaches and remarkably another 1050 when part-time and matchday employees are taken into account.Vegas Claret wrote:I know that and I still don't believe it !!
Burnley were obviously in the Prem in '17/'18 with a Wage bill of £86.1m. We had 120 players, managerial and training staff plus 64 Sales, admin and ancillary staff (43 full-time and 21 part-time). In addition a further 295 match-day staff during the season.
Clearly, therefore, a very difficult comparison between the likes of Villa and Burnley in terms of average salary per employee.

Re: Premier League Salaries
Pretty easy to see that most clubs will be playing players like we do as a % of the sky money as "their slice of the pie".
Only the top 6 plus a few other cheeky one off players being bankrolled by the chairmen will stand out. Can presume outside the top 6 the actual average will be pretty much the "going rate"

OP clearly says "Every Premier League club's average salary"
No mention of the Championship so i assume/assumed they were talking about this season

No meester Fawlty - eets a hamster.
No, it’s a rat, you have rats in Spain don’t you, or did Franco have them all shot?
Pure comedy gold - genius.
Re: Premier League Salaries
So Wolves persuaded pretty much the entire Portugal team to join them for £36k a week? Ok then.

And how are Watford below us? Wasn't the story that Andre Gray left because they'd offered him about 80 or 90 grand a week?

Re: Premier League Salaries
What a crock of ****. Obviously includes all youth team or something. Several teams way too low including Wolves, Leicester, Palace.
We have a smaller squad so ours probably more made up of our first team squad as a percentage.

Re: Premier League Salaries
Two problems here, firstly information is not yet available for the current season (and won't be for some considerable time) and secondly there's no way in a million years Sheff United and Norwich will be paying average PL salaries of £9k and £12k respectively per week. They are most certainly the figures from their previous Championship campaign.wilks_bfc wrote:The article is also headlined

Re: Premier League Salaries
In fact the total Wage bills of Watford and Burnley are pretty similar, Watford at £85.9million compared to our £81.6million. The subtle difference will be that ours is very heavily bonus incentivised, so that over £23million of the £86.1million was a reward for the players finishing 7th in the '17/'18 season.Foulthrow wrote:And how are Watford below us? Biggest difference is what they are paying our old m8 Andre.....
