Guaranteed to finish the weekend in 7th I think. Which is great considering that I wouldn’t suggest that we’ve even excelled ourselves so far.

No, we WILL drop a place.

Sheffield United vs Man U

Sheff U win, they go above us.
Draw, Sheff U go above us due to a better GD.

Maybe not, but I think that there has been improvement even compared to the second half of last season.

I’d agree with that. We seem to create chances out of nothing and putting three goals in today after a poor first half wasn’t even a huge surprise.

My point was more that it doesn’t really seem like we’ve had a fantastic start to the season to me. But maybe that’s a sign of how accomplished we now are at this level.

There's a timeline, a parallel universe where we're where we're supposed to be - upper-mid championship - and someone in that timeline tells someone else in that timeline that in ours (OURS) we're sitting in the top six of the PL a third of the way through the season for the second time in three seasons with not a single penny of blood money spent, and they all laugh and have a bit of a joke about it and get back to watching a dull 0-0 against Reading or something. But here we all are, sitting sixth in the table like it's nothing, because we're so good that it's completely unsurprising by this point. Cheers, Sean. I f.ucking love this football club.

That’s the odd thing about it all, it no longer feels odd. We’re sixth, currently ahead of Man United, Spurs and Arsenal and it all feels pretty normal!

We need to show that we can perform to that level for a full season.

Two years ago, despite finishing 7th, the second half of the season wasn't great (4 wins was it?).

Last season, was the opposite; great second half after an awful first.

We have two home games coming up vs Palace and the Toon which last season we lost badly and as those teams were in the relegation zone when we played them, put us right in the doodoo.

This season it would double the number of points that we had at Boxing Day and go a long way to sealing survival.

Come on you Clarets.
