I’ve gone Pope just ahead of the two central defenders. Without having too many big saves to make I thought his performance was outstanding.

Gone for Pope myself.
The area really was HIS today.
Anyone know, not seen a replay, but did he tip that pile driver onto the bar right at the end?

Mee,closely followed by Tarks,I know we are little old Burnley but I really think Southgate needs to pair these two together next summer in the Euro's,clearly the best two English central defenders in the country.

I've voted for Jack Lennon.
He was all over the pitch.

Re: Vote for your man of the match against Watford
Nick Pope - came and caught several balls that may otherwise have been heading towards the back of our net. Kept us in the game when otherwise it appeared we were playing against the wind and up the slope.
I think he did touch the late one that cannoned off the cross-bar. I don't think it was going in before his touch but the rebound may have been harder to deal with.
Also gave Ben Mee a great call to leave it and let it come safely into his hands, when it looked to me that there was a high chance that Ben, arriving late, could have done more than slice it goal-wards. Ben looked pleased he didn't have to play it.
Clean sheet - that's always the first part of winning the game and Nick did that well today.
Not forgetting it was raining hard and the ball and the pitch would both be greasy. Nick "safe hands" Pope, England's #1.

I thought he’d got a touch. It was a stunning strike and if he touched it was also a stunning save. It wasn’t his saves today though, it was the way he looked so assured and in control throughout.Buxtonclaret wrote:Gone for Pope myself.

I thought Mee was exceptional. Pope was back to being Pope and Tarkowski as sound as a bell.
