I’m sure others will disagree with me but from what I saw from the away end he was absolutely dreadful.

I'm not allowed to rate him as I wasn't at the game - that's fortunate as I don't rate him !

Think he might have relied on var check for the penalty rather than give it.
His worst decision was when Tarks clearly won the ball on the edge of box and he gave a free kick.

Not sure even Stevie Wonder would disagree tbh.
One of those refs that has players around him all the game giving a general sense of being clueless...
This guy is one of the worst and you just breathe a sigh of relief when he hasn’t cost you any points.

Re: RATE THE REF - Paul Tierney v Watford
Very very poor. I’m sure he missed plenty for Watford but the three that stick in my head are the failure to award Barnes a penalty, penalising Tarkowski for a perfectly clean tackle on our 18 yard line and failing to give Jay Rod a free kick on the edge of their box when bundled over from behind and through on goal.

You know he's had a nightmare when we've won the 3-0 and he's still getting absolutely slated on here.

Not allowed to score but he looked very poor from a stream and fell for many a dive. Shocker against Tark’s tackle on the edge of the box. Chickened out of the penalty even though their player was limping badly indicating that he had fouled

I was so angry with him when he gave a ridiculous foul after a great tackle which nearly resulted in Westwood getting himself sent off.

I’ve always tried to rate referees regardless of the result although I do accept that the frustration levels increase when you get a poor result. At least people are more accepting of the criticism after a good result.Foulthrow wrote:You know he's had a nightmare when we've won the 3-0 and he's still getting absolutely slated on here.
I’m pleased to see some comments about the Tarkowski incident. I was baffled by it at the time.

Sadly, the modern game, Tony. The ball is no longer relevant when tackling it is the safety of the opponent which matters ---the game is going to hell in a handcart!ClaretTony wrote:I’ve always tried to rate referees regardless of the result although I do accept that the frustration levels increase when you get a poor result. Dawson (Watford) got cautioned the other week against Chelsea for a super tackle just because his opponent rolled around on the floor a few times.

Re: RATE THE REF - Paul Tierney v Watford
From what I could see there was no opponent there to put at risk. You can tell by the reaction of the players when the referee has got it badly wrong.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote:Sadly, the modern game, Tony. A blind, wan ker, who saw nothing, tossed the whole match and made excruciatingly bad decisions, even when close. A bloody idiot who should have his whistle and boots confiscated.
Worst of all, a blatant homer.
Got me and our players very angry at his incompetence.

Never seen him have a good game to be honest whether it's one of our games or not. Always seems to be weak and indecisive.

One of the most dreadful "homer" displays you will ever see. Gave us nowt, what he did give us it was because he had to. Yet he tried to find any infringement possible to award Watford something

The best and cleanest tackle you will see anywhere all weekend (ooooerrrr missus) was the one that Tarkowski made on the edge of our box second half, yet the absolute pillock gave a free kick

Gave two fouls for absolutely perfect tackles by Tarky. One led to Mee’s booking for dissent too. How the hell did Holebas not get booked? Constantly in the ear of the ref and his foul on Bardsley was a shocker.

Re: RATE THE REF - Paul Tierney v Watford
It was awful officiating of the highest order
When you see the reaction of the players faces time and time again tells its own story of how bad he was
Barnes run the full lenth of the pitch to protest about the decision for the penalty.
Dyche had to get the message onto the pitch not to loss our heads has he was pushing for a sending off you could see it a country mile off
under them circumstances i think in the end we beat him at his own game
There's some bad refs in this league isn't there.
Not one went to the world cup and i wouldn't be surprised if we dont see any in the Euros.

We didn’t have a ref at the World Cup because Clattenburg, who was our international selection, left the Premier League to work in Saudi Arabia.Longside4evr wrote:It was awful officiating of the highest order

I may be wrong, but didn't our 'relationship' with Tierney begin at Huddersfield when he didn't give a penalty that could be seen from the Moon?

Re: RATE THE REF - Paul Tierney v Watford
How he didn’t give the penalty was absolutely mind boggling, glad Barnes chased after him and VAR did what it should do for once.
Re: RATE THE REF - Paul Tierney v Watford
Not been mentioned however the worst foul of the game was committed late in the game by Doucoure on Dwight, gave him a good kick with no intention of winning the ball, no yellow card. Much worse than the foul Tarky was booked for.
Think Mee was complaining that Watford had taken Burnley's throw in which led to the attack when he was booked. It was after one of Dawson's injuries.
