Is Westwood suspended for next week
Was that Westwood’s 5th booking this season and puts him out if next week’s game.
Another silly and needless one

Drinkwater to start next Saturday
Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
Doubt it. It’ll be Hendrick into the middle and Brady to come in. Only question is which wing Dwight and Brady will play on. Suspect Dwight will move onto the right.bfcmik wrote:Drinkwater to start next Saturday

Drinkwater to make the bench?
If we get an injury next week it's possibly his ony chance to impress.

Pity we can’t appeal because the incident which Westy questioned the ref involving Tarks was never a foul

Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
Yes Westwood will be a big loss next week. At the risk of being shot down, I'd be inclined to move Hendrick into the centre with Cork and bring Lowton in on the right side of the mid 4. Palace's main threat is Zaha, and this will help us double up on him and also allow Lowton to play more advance, He is one of our best crossers. This is assuming JBG isn't going to be fit, if he was he'd be the natural choice.

Ben Mee, Jeff Hendricks and Tarks can't be a million miles away from 5 bookings either ?

Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
We don’t want a Tarky booking against Palace then....we can’t face City without him to have the best chance of nicking points

I'm sure It was for dissent rather than the "foul" ?SussexDon1inIreland wrote:Pity we can’t appeal because the incident which Westy questioned the ref involving Tarks was never a foul

If Tarks is to be suspended I would rather it was v Citeh than a game we target to win

Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
Why can’t we beat City. I think their defence is weaker than in previous games...we can definitely give them a game for sure
Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
If Tarks does get a suspension it would be a great opportunity for Gibson to step up. Imagine Gibson then stopping Tarks getting back in the side.

His delivery from corners will certainly be missed.
I see a lot more teams are copying us, putting the keeper under pressure. For years the tactic went to keeping the ball away from the keeper.

Hendrick in middle and knowing Mr D, Lennon on right, for his defensive qualities.

Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
I'm not being funny Ian, but I don't actually think he has ANY attributes. He was certainly a very good player 10 years ago, but now I see absolutely nothing tbh. I sincerely hope we pick somebody else, but with JBG injured I agree I can't see it. Personally I'd pick Koiki and see if he can become the next McNeil. He's got a chance!IanMcL wrote:Mr D likes his defensive attributes.

Lowton as a right midfielder, are you insane?ashtonlongsider wrote:Yes Westwood will be a big loss next week. Nailed on it will be Lennon vs Palace. Brady and Drinkwater on the bench.
Also agree it will be Long not Gibson if Tarks gets booked again.

Drinkwater won’t make the bench seen him twice for the under 23s both times looks like he is carrying a caravan on his back

But we're doing an absolutely brilliant job getting him fit enough for Chelsea's bench come January!!Longsidelenny wrote:Drinkwater won’t make the bench seen him twice for the under 23s both times looks like he is carrying a caravan on his back

Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
We will certainly miss Westy's set plays, but against a well organised Palace side, Hendrick at his best may give us an extra dimension which may help us break them down in open play.
The decision about Lennon or Brady will be an interesting one. Can make a good case either way.

Mr D would disagree.Dark Cloud wrote:I'm not being funny Ian, but I don't actually think he has ANY attributes. He was certainly a very good player 10 years ago, but now I see absolutely nothing tbh. KOIKI should not be thrown to the lions.....or the Eagles!

Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
So rather than play a winger in either Brady or Lennon, the ideas on this board include playing an out of form right back on the wing or throwing in an untested youngster who has played the majority of his games at left back?
Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
I'm afraid we'll be seeing a few more of the usual needless orchestrated festive bookings in order to book some festive time off chaps, always the case around this time of year.
Re: Is Westwood suspended for next week
Not so. Ref was sorting Chrostmas, all by himself.
