Re: Blades v Man U
Lingard on for Jones, not a shock,Man Utd's bench is weak compared to the likes of City,Liverpool and even Chelsea,Leicester and Tottenham.
They've got Mata,Lingard and the youngster Greenwood who i'd class as gamechangers, the rest i think are youth team players, and sub keeper.
2-0 to the blades,i'd start clearing out your desk Ole.

Not inconceivable for Man U, Arsenal and Everton to all need managers by the New year.
If I was Chief Exec of any of them Dyche would be very near the top of my list. Hopefully, the actual chief execs will get Pochettino for Man U, someone foreign for Arsenal and ABD (anyone but Dyche) for Everton

Lingard has to be one of the most overrated players in the premier, having said that I think most are starting to realise how useless he is

I think Mousset was fouled twice by Jones and then a Jones and Maguire, sandwich, so serves them right.Leisure wrote:Am I the only one who thought it was a foul before the cross went in for the goal?

I’d have fancied Mee it Tarko to get a block on mousset’s shot. £80m Maguire not willing to put his body on the line!

Re: Blades v Man U
Makes you wonder why EH discarded Mousset,i see his record their was 3 in 58 games, clearly Bournemouth's style didn't suit his game.
That was an outstanding finish by Lys Mousset who now has four Premier League goals and three assists since joining for £10m from Bournemouth.
What a bargain!
He's obviously settled into life at Bramall Lane like a duck to water.

Re: Blades v Man U
A good team can beat a side of exceptional individuals.
Utd , like Arsenal, are a mess.
Sheff U on the other hand are a prooer team. We disnt turn up at Bramall Lane, but they still took no prisoners. I, like everyone else, thought they'd finish bottom, I'm happy to be wrong. It's great to see another team performing on a shoe string, and rubbing the big boys noses in it.
The only area I would put them ahead of us is they seem to have pace all over the pitch, which is always helpful in the Prem.

Re: Blades v Man U
It's a poison chalice. Even Fergie knew when he'd left that the squad wasn't good enough. And they've not had anybody come close to turning them into the team they once were. It's for someone who wants to be sacked with a big payout.Wile E Coyote wrote:i would be annoyed if i were a utd fan if they went in for pochettino

Spurs, Everton, Man U. Three upcoming games against so called bigger clubs that we could probably have got some points, but chances are we will be facing another 2 new managers, as well as Moanrinho, shame really.

i thought they had the right man with moyes, but the club were far too shortsighted and got rid, pochettino is all media hype.Hibsclaret wrote:Who would you want then? They had the guy with the best trophy haul?
Im not a UTD fan, so I don't mind them dropping like a stone, but whether they look abroad or internally for a replacement, poch would be a huge mistake .

Re: Blades v Man U
I honestly think Sheff U have looked at us and not simply tried to copy, but copied and aimed to go +. When we played them it was the perfect storm (unfortunately) of them having a stormer and us having one of our (not too common) rubbish days, so difficult to judge properly. I don't think they're the only team to look at us and try to emulate our success, not just on the field by buying shrewdly and building a genuine "team" in every sense of the word, but also in the way we go about our all round business and safeguard the future by being prudent. Udders definitely have tried to copy us and Norwich too and good on these kind of clubs and footy needs more of them, because it's really the only way for most clubs to go about it and still know there will be a club there for future generations. The way Fulham went about things for example, was plain daft and I was glad and it was actually good for football that it spectacularly failed!Colburn_Claret wrote:A good team can beat a side of exceptional individuals.

Re: Blades v Man U
You do have to the character of Man U,Arsenal and Tottenham's squad's,especially away from home they aren't up for the battle, you have to earn the right to play in any league, too many prima donnas in their collective ranks, and once the going gets tough they shirk responsibility.
2-1 as i type makes for an interesting last 20 minutes.

Not really. We conceded three in one half and none in another half and were sloppy by our standards. Having been in the Premier League for four seasons there isn't any reason Sheffield should be much better than we are.damo_whitehead wrote:Sheffield United are a very good side in excellent form, thought they were superb against us and are so again today. Both goals coming from youth team products, there might be a hint of which route Man U should be following in that.
