Lawro's predictions

Post by LordBob » Mon Nov 25, 2019 6:36 pm

I look at them from time to time and with the Villa v Newcastle game coming up tonight I noticed he's gone Villa 2-0, I wouldn't go with that so I checked his weekend predictions. Now he's a paid expert wow!! rubbish got the lot wrong in some cases badly wrong, glad it's just for fun.

Many of the experts do, football is football after all. The idea that the result always go as predicted is limited to Liverpool win only. Even Citeh are capable of being coupon busters.

Id stopped checking Charlie Nicholas as he consistently had us to win, and we'd lose.
Fortunately he went for Watford at the weekend.

Charlie has really changed his tune with us this season tbh. He has had us to win a good few times this season and I think he has seen the light...

What an idiot, predicting a 2-0 Villa win.

He's the football version of Mystic Meg, novelty figure put on for a bit of fun and a far away look in the face.

To be fair, he's better than the average punter. A few years ago the BBC site opened up the weekly Prem predictions competition, there were hundreds of thousands entered and I recall Lawro finished in the top 5% or so.
What irks me though is the "oponent" he gets each week to compare his predictions with. These are usually "famous"/semi-celeb types who know chuff-all about footy.

I’m a big Lawro fan. Sure he’s bit of a comedy figure, and to be honest I reckon he’s not that interested in football. Maybe that’s why I love him.
