Drinkwater in Dyche's thoughts for Saturday

After regaining full fitness following an ankle injury, boss Dyche insists the 29-year-old is in his thoughts ahead of Saturday’s visit of Crystal Palace: https://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/new ... on-return/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Better than being in his prayers, I guess.

Drinkwater will prove all the doubters wrong. Some drivel posted about him by some of the board's moral entrepreneurs.

Without any other central midfielders, I'll be surprised if he doesn't start as a sub, with Hendrick in the middle.

So you’d prefer to play Hendrick? Is he not a wrong en?

Jeff Hendrick is having a great season and so why would Sean drop him for Drinkwater

Regardless of what he has or hasn't done, if the Gaffer puts him out in a Claret Shirt on Saturday get behind him ffs ..... plus at the moment he is a Burnley player (albeit on loan) so I will put aside personal thoughts as long as he is on the field doing what he is paid for.

You've got no chance, the whingers never accept they're wrong when Dyche keeps doing well at the job.

I am sorry Tony, I missed the article where Hendrick was going to take home someone else’s girlfriend when he knew she was in a relationship. I am the kinda guy thinks that important.

But if Hendrick did that then yes I would feel the same.

I would think Hendrick’s actions were far worse

Would you be saying that if it was your wife or girlfriend he was trying to take home with you in the same night club?

I have no idea what he has done.

Not forgetting the paragon of virtue that was Sir Joey of Barton

There's no way Dyche will throw Drinkwater in to start on Saturday. He might be on the bench.

Absolutely and not that long since Charlie Austin was found guilty of assault during the time he was at Burnley. Drinkwater didn’t actually commit any offence.

Wasn't Hendrick cleared of affray or similar? Cleared being the point here. Also, wasn't he still a Derby player when the alleged incident happened?

Let those without sin cast the 1st stone.

I seem to remember a certain Joey Barton getting pelters yet he won everyone over (well 99%....)

Had SD sent him packing fair enough but he didn't and untill such time as he does he will get my backing if he pulls the Claret and Blue on......

He doesn't need to drop Hendrick. Westwood is AWOL and Drinkwater COULD fill that berth. Whether he will or not is the question!

Didn't Chris McCann and/or Kyle Lafferty have a run with the violence police during their time too?

Being cleared doesn't matter. Only being charged matters. This how social media justice and condemnation works.

Don’t remember Chris doing anything wrong.

Kyle, said some horrible comments to a disabled supporter at a Blackpool game. He was getting dogs abuse but verbally attacking a disabled supporter didn’t go down well.

He rang CT about comments on the board asking for numbers of board members.

He was a bit of a silly lad.

Joey Barton behaved very well whilst at Burnley (as far as we know, anyhow)

Yeah he was! CT should never have passed those numbers on. Lafferty still calls me sometimes out of the blue and just can't seem to let it go and move on. it's all very sad really and maybe it's about time I changed my number! Still, I forgave CT ages ago as he did it in all good faith!

Great. Hope he is fit enough and able to contribute.

I’m really looking forward to seeing if DD improves the squad, best case the starting 11 over the next few weeks.

With 8 games in 31 days we will need options.

By the end of the season he will be our best midfielder, signed on a 3.5 year deal at a negotiated rate and be adored by the fans.

Joey Barton the secomd coming.

You heard it here first.

All depends how fit but DD and Cork with Jeff on the right would surely be the call if DD was “ ready”

Don’t think he did pass any numbers on as mine would have been the first as Kyle lived a few yards from me and he was welcome to come round and kick off.

Drinkwater hasn’t even been arrested, charged or tried so let’s give them all a chance eh?

As above, they’re both just playing at it compared to Joey Barton anyway, and he was one of our most important signings under Dyche.

But that would go against everything Dyche has done in his previous 7 years. Especially with the premium he places on fitness, I don't see any chance of him throwing DD into a key position like centre mid.

Ha ha - and how did he get my number?

As for Chris McCann, I'd very much doubt he'd have done anything seriously wrong.

If you can't play because you tried to cop off with someone else's lass then I'm surprised that there'll be any football this weekend, professional or amateur.

I'm surprised by the amount of support for DD. He's cost us a lot of money for doing SFA, and it's his fault he's been unable to play.

If JBG isn't fit and he doesn't want to start Brady or Lennon on the right then he might just leave Hendrick there and replace Westwood with Drinkwater. It's quite feasible and if anything Drinkwater will have a point to prove to SD if nobody else.
