Westwood yellow card
I wasn't at the game, and have just watched Ashley's yellow on Clarets Player. Rather handy to get a ban before City and Spurs.

Assume he means it was a needless card and he now gets to miss two very tough games?

He is suspended for the Palace game only.burnleymik wrote:Assume he means it was a needless card and he now gets to miss two very tough games?
It was a ridiculous booking because he was helping set up the wall, the ball was dead and could not be played until the referee had measured the 10 yards and then blown for the kick to be taken, however, the referee took exception to Ashley doing his job. The game is going crazy!

He misses one game and that’s against Palace. Unless I’m missing something?burnleymik wrote:Assume he means it was a needless card and he now gets to miss two very tough games?

It was also following the free kick awarded against Tarkowski for a perfectly clean and fair challenge.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote:He is suspended for the Palace game only.

Re: Westwood yellow card
Is the OP suggesting he bought the card so as not to be suspended for City or Spurs?
I’d think that is not the Sean Dyche way.

Re: Westwood yellow card
I've now seen it all again and there are two absolutely appalling decisions from the referee Paul Tierney. First, the awarding of a free kick against Tarkowski is just downright ridiculous and then the yellow card is for no other reason than him standing there lining up the wall. This, sadly, is the standard of referee we are now getting under Mike Riley's regime at PGMOL.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote:He is suspended for the Palace game only.

I think that it is going to get much worse, not necessarily because of Mike Riley et al, because of the directives that are coming from FIFA.ClaretTony wrote:I've now seen it all again and there are two absolutely appalling decisions from the referee Paul Tierney. I am not a worrier, however, it does make me wonder just where the game is going when you consider that incident!
