Re: Your team vs Spurs
If Barnes is fit, I'd probably go 4-4-2.
If Barnes is not fit, then there's two options I'd like to see us use. Either way, I'd expect Hendrick to drop back alongside Cork with Drinkwater on the bench.
The first is for Jay to come in for Barnes in a 4-4-2, but with the possibility of Jay and McNeill swapping periodically to allow us to slot into a 4-3-3 with McNeil ahead of the other two midfielders.
The other option is for Brady and Lennon to play wide of a midfield 3 with McNeil ahead of the other two midfielders. I like McNeil in that role - indeed the one really good bit of possession play we managed on Tuesday night was when McNeil drifted across and then floated a wonderful raking ball in that nearly found Cork making a third man run at the far post. He's a wonderful crosser of the ball, but he's got a range of passing too and he also keeps the ball and retains possession, even with his back to goal.

Re: Your team vs Spurs
3 man attack for Spurs so:
Pope
Bardsley..Tarks..Mee..Gibson..Taylor(if fit or Pieters)
....Westwood.. Cork..Drinkwater
.....Wood................Barnes(if fit or McNeil)
They attack from all angles and our back 4 need a hand. If we pinch one great. If we lose one fetch JRod on for one of the CHs. We don’t need wingers, all selected can put a ball up for Wood & Barnes.

Re: Your team vs Spurs
Robbie Brady was one of the few bright lights against Palace, I can only imagine it was to stop him getting a new injury, so soon back, that prevented him starting against Citeh.
There are a few options, but whoever we play, we HAVE to get into their faces and play positive. If we start out slow out of the blocks, again, I'm turning the telly off and going shopping. It would be another car crash.

Re: Your team vs Spurs
Taylor won't play....
Pope
Lowton Tarkowski Mee Gibson
Hendrick Drinkwater Cork McNeil
Wood Rodriguez
No point risking the players who are carrying injuries. Newcastle and Bournemouth games are much bigger.

Re: Your team vs Spurs
My feeling is that if we play 4-4 -2 tomorrow we will get licked. Its too predictable. We will probably get licked anyway so why not try something slightly different.
In the second half at Villa we looked good in a 4-3-3 so why not start like this? I think that we need to start matching up against these sides like City a bit better than we did on Tuesday and a lot of them play that system. Also, Rodrigues looks lost in a 4- 4 -2 whereas he looked on it at Villa. Standing about up front chasing centre-halves isn't really getting the best out of him. Olus this way we could get our best player, McNeil involved a bit more perhaps.

Lowton Tarky Mee Taylor/Pieters
Jeff Cork McNeil
Jayrod Wood Barnes/Brady

Brady needs to start, we have a lot of players out of form.
We can't afford to keep any players playing well, on the bench.
