This is going to be the tie we can show the World (well.... those countries that are interested) we can win a cup tie.

Same last year with the Barnsley game. Less than a third of the ties being played at 3 o’clock (well, 3:01) again.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 7:16 pmThis is going to be the tie we can show the World (well.... those countries that are interested) we can win a cup tie.

Is there a genuine, valid reason for this or is it just something Ant and Dec thought up? Mental health is a serious issue not something to be trivialised by people who should know better.

Re: ARTICLE: Early kick off for FA Cup tie
Sadly the FA Cup is a sideshow for most teams nowadays, the top sides are focussed on winning the title/chasing top 4 or winning a European trophy.
The middling PL sides might give it a go,but the league is so tight they're looking over their shoulder at the relegation places.
And the bottom few PL teams are putting survival above all else.
Even most Championship teams will field shadow sides in this competition in the early rounds,as the lure of PL riches is the holy grail these days.
The staggered kick-offs won't help either, the 3rd round used to be one of the highlights of the season, now it's so spread out it's lost it's magic.
Even the draws aren't what they once were,it's bonkers that the draw for the next round often takes place during games,or in some cases before some ties have even been played, this drains all the anticipation from fans if you know your upcoming opponents.
I can't see us breaking five figures for the Peterborough tie,it's likely to be cold, post Xmas/new year period when money is tight, and the chances of playing a full-strength team are slim.

Re: ARTICLE: Early kick off for FA Cup tie
I think anyone expecting us to win this match, needs to take
more than a minute to think about their mental health.
Perhaps a 14.46 K.O. ?

Re: ARTICLE: Early kick off for FA Cup tie
I think you’re doing us a bit of a disservice there.
Does anyone know the last time we lost at home in the 3rd round of the FA Cup to someone lower than us??
Clue, it’s over 40 years ago.
