If you watch it back it is certainly McNeil who should have taken one for the team on this goal. McNeil needs to improve on his defending decisions in these sort of situations. Beyond that he was our best player by far though.

Lowton had already had a yellow and was the one player who couldn't foul him for that reason, but the others, probably chiefly Pieters, had plenty of chance. It was actually OUR free kick FF!! When he scored I almost burst out laughing!! It was THAT embarrassing!

It was clear from the big screen replays that Hendrick did not do enough and should have got in a position to take Son out or get a challenge in, a few others Lowton excepted could also have taken one for the team.

This goal shows how much we need a defensive midfielder to protect the backline,there's no way Son should be allowed to run 70 yards without a challenge/tactical foul being made,naivety at best and lack of effort at worst.summed up the 90 minutes,we threw the towel in after 10 minutes,that's unacceptable at any level.

A decent performance for the travelling fans (didn't get it)
No yellow cards to 'key players'.
No injuries.

Tarks had his shirt pulled at the free kick and lost valuable time rightly complaining to the ref. Whether it made any difference is anyone’s guess.

I have looked at the replay several times and had Pieters been properly moving he was in a perfect position to take the ball cleanly, without the need to 'take one for the team. Trouble is,no right foot, although, I'm sure I will be reminded of his right footed 'spooned' clearance which became an assist against Southampton. If Dyche played him so that he could rest Taylor for this Saturday, then I am ok with that.
