Bud Ekins was the man who actually did the stunt.

Brilliant film, and McQueen as the cooler king was quite superb.

Guy Martin? Puddled. Wonderfully eccentric, a national treasure and a modern day Fred Dibnah.

You could learn a lot from Guy, Tim mate. You're a VERY feminine chap, you strike as Bruce Jenners long lost twin :) all the best for Xmas bud

When the news comes out that Guy Martin has killed and buried dozens of people it will be the least surprising thing in the world.

Bit of an anti climax that jump. Steve McQueen didn't have a ramp and tried to jump two fences individually using the the natural landscape.

The program stated that in the film the stunt man did in fact use a ramp that was sunken into the natural landscape so it couldn't be seen by the camera.

They did have a ramp in the original film you just couldnt see it  clever camera angles ... plus McQueen didn't do the jump in the film it was his stunt double as we were told in last nights programme...
Plus in the film he jumped one fence, but there was no where to jump the 2nd fence, so he crashed into the barbed wire and was captured...
