Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
It seems the players are enjoying their Christmas party in Dublin this year. Hopefully they have a good time, don’t get in any trouble, and come back stronger. That comment though...

I just hope Joe Hart is there to cheer everyone up with his smile.

Dyche should have pulled the plug on this

Nothing to support there. You happy with the recent performances, then?
Re: Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
If Fergie had have been the Manager the Christmas do would have been cancelled after the last seven days performances.

Yeah not sure that’s the most supportive comment you could give a current Burnley player.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 10:33 pmNothing to support there. You happy with the recent performances, then?
To answer your question, I haven’t enjoyed the last 3 games, I am however pretty happy with being the 13th best team in the country.

Re: Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
I very much doubt he would. Players and teams play well and players and teams play badly but the club is going down the wrong path if the players' personal time is controlled.

Sometimes (in any workplace) you have to accept that some people are no good for you.

Re: Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
Maybe Dyche thinks that being 13th in the table at the time of the players’ planned Christmas celebrations is not enough of a crisis to warrant pulling the plug on the event. We have been through good and bad spells this season like we do in most others but fortunately the people that matter don’t seem to make the same knee jerk reactions as some of our fans.

How do you know whether Drinkwater is good for the group?

Sean told the team "no shots" - seems they took it as applying from 3pm yesterday.

I would have expected the players to be called in for an extra training session this morning.

Cancelling Xmas or at very least holding back on the festivities until the form was back on track could have had some sort of connection with sections of a unhappy fanbase hacked off with the last 3 games post Watford that's for sure.

Im sure there are more experienced people deciding these things than people on a message board.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 11:24 pmCancelling Xmas or at very least holding back on the festivities until the form was back on track could have had some sort of connection with sections of a unhappy fanbase hacked off with the last 3 games post Watford that's for sure.
Maybe a bit of time together and a blow out is needed?

We have lost to the current billionaire Man City and a rejuvenated Spurs....Champions League finalists just a few months ago.
Knowing how our team responds to setbacks is sufficient to let me sleep well.
Up the Clarets.

Lets home they can bring back some spirit -it would be a tonic for the fans
They were totally devoid of it in yesterdays performance and they were a yard short. Its left a bitter taste. There is obviously an in-cider in the camp

With all due respect lads, really think the players should have decided to cancel any celebrations after what happened on Saturday. Put the money towards a new central defender.

Not a bad life when poor performance at work gets you the reward of a **** up in Dublin and an extra day off

Some miserable posts on here.
The players will only get the chance to drink alcohol a few times throughout the whole season, would you really cancel one of them. Morale needs lifting not extinguishing.
After all the fuss of no beer being sold at Sheff Utd and Watford half times. Get a grip people.

I had a bad day at work on Friday..It didn't stop me going out and enjoying myself on Saturday. They are young men, human beings and need down time like anybody else.. Leave them to it..

Re: Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
The last 3 performances have been awful and it appears that their Christmas ride out which must have been planned for ages in advance, has fallen at a very unfortunate time. For me personally, they have credit in the bank for several great seasons with some great performances in there, so I'm not too fussed tbh, but if things aren't much better come Saturday and after Christmas I might start to feel differently. (Having said that, they probably booked it on Last Minute just to avoid facing SD on Monday morning!!)
Re: Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
Could they have not just gone out in London on Saturday night after the game?

Re: Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
Does it all really matter??? Some of the comments on this thread....
It was one night out. That I assume was pre-planned and approved by the management. Good for team bonding. I'm fairly sure they will be back in training as they normally would be....
There's absolutely no news in this 'story' at all. They've had a night out after a defeat. What terrible human beings.....

With all due respect in return, mate, we would no doubt have had a win to celebrate had we been playing Hibernian!Millertime v1.7 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 2:59 amWith all due respect lads, really think the players should have decided to cancel any celebrations after what happened on Saturday.
Re: Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
Can’t see an issue regardless of the most recent result. Nor do I see the proof in the pudding being the Newcastle game. We have always had ups and downs with Dyche but ultimately sit in an amazing position.
Probably draw the line at Danny Drinkwater though, who still has a great deal to prove after his recent fiasco, and yet by all accounts was the most popped up and visibly so.

I genuinly think canceling this do would have had a negative effect, they dont go out to play that poor this might be just what they need to regroup and get the team spirit back.

Re: Burnley players on their Xmas do in Dublin
So the players are in Dublin on their Christmas jolly.
They have a big and important period coming up lets cut them a bit of slack .... the only dark cloud really from the last 3 games was Palace at home, City was always a gamewe were destined to lose and lets face it Spurs was as well... at least we went into these 3 games on the back of 3 wins 10 goals none conceded.... so 9 points from 18 is average and we tbf are an average team. Also missing 3 vital players in Westy, Charlie and JBG.
I for one am not pressing the panic button just yet.
If this Dublin trip raises player morale at this time I am all for it.
Bring on the Barcodes on Saturday lets get back to winning ways...
