Napoli sack Carlo Ancelotti

Post by tiger76 » Tue Dec 10, 2019 11:18 pm

Unless there is something behind the scenes, this is a strange decision,i know their league form has been patchy, but to come through a tough CL group containing the reigning champions among others is no mean feat.

I'm sure plenty of PL owner's ears will have perked up at this news, notably a club in North London who are currently managerless.

Napoli are in turmoil with most of the players at loggerheads with the chairman.
I don't know what a coach can do about that?

Everton will be doing all they can to get him

Both Arsenal & Everton will make a move for him I expect. Always thought it was one of Chelsea’s biggest mistakes when they sacked him.

Post 2 has it. Chairman fined every player because they refused to go to a training camp when they were just back from the international break. They wanted time with family.
Ancelotti has been lied to about finances and wanted out.

A mate of mine who has a box at the San Paulo Stadium reckons the deal is done to take Dyche to Napoli.

Who would you replace him with?

I know this can't be true because Dyche can't speak Italian and has an allergy to pasta. I know a bloke who has a friend who works in an Italian place in Rugby, and his wife is friends with the woman whose best friend is Dyches' cleaner. And she said.

Napoli are an odd club. They are huge and have massive support and at one time their stadium was the biggest (or one of the biggest) in Italy. Despite all this their trophy haul is minimal. Champions of Italy twice (both in the 80's within about 3 years of each other) when Maradona was there. 5 Italian cups (again one when Maradona was there) and one UEFA cup (again in the Maradona era). If you take Maradona out of the equasion they have never really achieved that much. They really are one of the biggest sleeping giants of European football.

Odd note: my dad was stationed in Naples at one point during the war and actually played on their pitch in a friendly - a fact he was duly proud of.

Would be a great coup for Everton if they could get him, great manager, and don't you just love his wondering eyebrow.
