Flip flops
Flip flops
People wearing them with anoraks when it’s raining or v cold...what’s this all about ? Why does it not matter if your feet get wet or cold but it does if the top half of your body gets wet or cold ? Is this as bad as wearing trainers with a suit ?

Think the short thing just applies to post ‘people’. I’ve seen them wearing them when it’s snowing ( with anoraks). It’s -2 and our uniform choice is shorts or trousers. I’ll go for the shorts thanks

I'm talking about dads in the school yard, in Tesco and generally walking the streets.

Always presuming wearing shorts all year round was for the lower orders /work shy chavs etc who dont need to change into anything suitable for a day of smoking weed/spoons daytime telly ( rip jezza) it’s up there with scrubbers wearing grimy dressing gowns to go to the shop /drop kids off .

I'm a leather uppers/leather soles, made in Northants man (I'm not Sean Dyche though).
Wearing flip flops/sandals walking around outside (other than on the beach) is asking for trouble- like doing a fry up in the kitchen whilst naked.
Get some proper shoes and apply some Kiwi occasionally you slovenly people.

Re: Flip flops
Thank goodness we have at least one with correct dress etiquette ! Though silk dressing gowns are permitted for Sunday breakfast and a velvet smoking jacket may be worn to bed on birthdays /xmas’s /Claret away wins
Re: Flip flops
They are now called "Sliders", basically another way people can get a little lazier and not have to endure the physical torture that is bending down to apply footwear and tie the lace.
Its Burnley not the Bahamas, so put your skany frodo feet away.
Someone said if you look closely it's usually those who wash less frequently that seem obsessed with this type of footwear.
And when you do actually take notice it's right
I am however an avid fan of shorts and wear them daily, cant do with being all tight and restricted in jeans/pants if theres no real need, also the cool air on my ball sack is quite pleasant.

Re: Flip flops
Yeah, got quite a few Loakes's (otherwise mainly Barkers).Cant beat a nice pair of Loakes.damned expensive though.
I use 7 pairs of black "everyday" shoes and 3 of those are the same Loakes model (771B); I also have a brown pair of 771Bs. (Have other all leather shoes too). I swap shoes after each day's wear and "stock rotate".
A few relatives/mates think Im some sort of shoe fetishist but I've always walked a lot (haven't had a car for nearly 20 years now) and my 70yo feet are still in a good state and I dont get smelly socks. My oldest pair is c 20 years old and still going well.

Loake do make damned fine shoes, no doubt about that. A good investment.
