Wouldn't matter, he would still get picked with no head.

Always looks to play the man before the ball; a right dirty git

Still think if we'd had a proper ref Carroll would have had his usual early walk back to the changing rooms. How Robinson gets to ref in the PL is beyond me.

very fortunate to play the whole game today. He needed to be red carded for the safety of others.

Apart from the obvious GBH on Ben Mee that should have produced a red, I was glad that they played him. Completely useless!!!

Earlier in the first half Phil Bardsley took a heavy knock to the head whilst contesting a ball with Carroll. Might've been accidental but once again it was AC's elbow that did the damage.

Useless lump. I always worry that there's a threat when he plays against us but invariably he's terrible and brings very little to the party.

Don’t enjoy watching him play and always thought he was overrated.

Him flattening Mee played right into our hands, because after that incident every one of our players wanted a piece of him and he was well and truly owned.

Looked dangerous for the first 15 minutes or so. After that, Mee & Tarks bossed him,.

How he and the linesman missed the push on Pieters is beyond me

How does Dyche or anyone else on the pitch refrain from coming on and just twatting the horrible little gobshite.

Didn't he get sent off against us a year or two ago within 10 mins for another elbow?

Did laugh when Barnes did him at a free kick late on. Barnes put him on his backside and smiled👍

I think Mee is knobbing Carroll's wife didn't he poleaxe Mee the same way with his elbow playing for West Ham and get sent off, I think it was on the Turf last season?

I think Carroll was playing for West Ham when he last got sent off at the Turf, for two elbows, the second of which certainly should have been red because he was looking a Mee, not the ball, when he launched himself at him with a stiff elbow. He often gets away with it because he doesn't actually jab his victims with his elbow. He locks his elbow into position before launching himself into the victim. It usually means he gets two attempts before the red card.

Well I’m surprised that no-one has mentioned the leading arm of one of our players today on more than one occasion. So I would say that we gave as good as we got.

Carroll should have been sent off, but Barnes could have gone earlier on.

One of the dirtiest players I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching. Every ball up to him is a foul. And he still has the gall to claim for free kicks. Horrible footballer.

It's a shame because Carroll does have a talent. For a big man he's pretty neat on the ground and if used properly and with control of his elbows he would have been a useful player.

I'm just glad Ben Mee isn't female.

It could have been a lot worse.

I’ve heard he’s taking archery lessons in Spain such is his penchant for use of a particular part of his anatomy...

Carroll has played in 313 matches and received 46 cautions and been dismissed 3 times.
Our Ashley has played in 390 matches and received 73 cautions and been dismissed 5 times.
Within a few years neither would be welcome in the PL when no contact will be allowed,

Had we been one of the big clubs, I suspect it would have been less likely for him to stay on the pitch.

Personally, I'm glad he played. Remind me how many shots they had on goal. Great header; putting it wide against Bardsley.

I love Phil Bardsley's response, straight and to the point!
Sadly, these days are numbered when FIFA et al decree a non-contact sport must ensue with all physicality being penalised one way or another.
It must be the case if players like Andy Carroll are moaning about the physical aspects of playing football. The media should enjoy pursuing this on his behalf.
