Your personal hopes for 2020...

Post by LoveCurryPies » Sat Dec 14, 2019 7:31 pm

....not politics or football related, but your personal or family ambitions. Is there anything you are really looking forward to in 2020?

(Lets have a positive, optimistic thread)

I’m getting married, so huge plans!

Aim is to smash my sales target and earn plenty of commission.

Get back fit and in good shape for my wedding & Honeymoon.

Get better at handling my depression so I can be a better Dad & partner

Health and Happiness for friends, family and myself
See my daughter keep developing and all the amazing milestones. Walk, talk, swim etc. Her reaction to the simplest of things melts my heart every day!
New memories with friends and family
New Experiences
Visit some new countries
New knowledge
New friends through work and travel
Keep challenging myself personally and professionally
Professional success (not necessarily financial - just continue to do better and learn every year)

Finishing up my second year of Speech and Language studies.

Getting the anxiety and existential dread in better order.

Eat less. Move more.

Burnley to still be in the EPL.

this has been the toughest 6 months of my life, lost my Dad and Uncle to cancer and had 3 operations since July - but nothing gets me down for long, roll on 2020, onwards and upwards and all that.

I’m so lucky. Very rarely ill and never anything serious. I’ll never be wealthy but I’ll never be poor and that’s a blessing. I love all my family, close and extended, and they are all in good shape also.
I just wish people could be nicer to each other. The world is so angry.

Not getting bit by the flies, when I return to Paphos in April. I'm still suffering reaction to the bites I got a month ago.
To the above people who have suffered personal illnesses and lost loved ones, may I wish you all a more joyous New Year.

Looking forward to finishing my chemo course in March and hopefully getting a good outcome. After that every day would seem to be a bonus, so a change of attitude to live a little and appreciate the moment with less stress about hoofball, politics, Brexit and other time stealers.

I have to undergo a routine procedure on my heart on Thursday which hopefully will mean I will be firing on all four in the New Year instead of three and thereafter I will be more active.

Me and Mrs Loup are off to Costa Rica at the end of Feb and I am looking forward to spending more time with my grandson who can now walk and hopefully soon will learn how to kick a ball, he is quite good at throwing one already.

Stent?

I had mine done 10 years ago. Had a few odd twinges at first but then the body seems to get used to it after a few weeks. Maybe it was mostly in my mind?

Where are you having it done?

It’s really tough losing a parent. Give it time and you will feel like a small piece of them is living on in you. Never forgotten!

2019 was a crap year for me, the Cancer diagnosis and the subsequent treatment. Because it was head and neck, I'm still not over the side effects of the Radiotherapy. But I'm really enjoying life again, and I've found I dont stress nowhere near as much as I used to do. Has it changed me, christ yes....but I'm still here.
So 2020, small steps and continue to enjoy life.

LCP, Nope to a stent, I have a flutter so they are going to blast me with a few hundred
electrical volts to try to regulate the rhythm at West Suffolk Hospital :?

I just hope they have enough shillings for the meter.

I can't think of anything worse than croaking in midseason.

Thanks for your concern and starting this positive thread.

My daughter’s passing out parade in January - police detective - which will be a nice start to the year.
Last 12 months has not been the best with 4 funerals for friends and family so hopefully 2020 will be better.

A number of the posts on this thread put life into perspective - health and best wishes to all on here going through tough times.

It's very hard losing loved ones, I lost my brother, father, grandma and auntie in that order within 6 months and during that time my wife ran off with my best mate, but that was a long time ago and life for me now is great.

As for 2020, I just want my family to remain healthy. It's streets ahead more important than money.

As for the thread, I think we all need a more positive outlook in our lives. So much depressing news re politics, climate change and stabbing.

A better year than 2019, which saw me diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and Mr Brucefanclaret diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Surgery and chemo for me and medication for him seem to have done the trick - for now, at least. So - get back in shape, enjoy time with our grandchildren and just enjoy still being here!

Come and see me at Brush Switchgear in South Wales, I have just the equipment

I wish all of you that have had a tough 2019 a prosperous and healthy 2020.

2019 has been good to me, a new job where is feel valued and appreciated improved my life immeasurably. I’ve levelled up in my profession, my salary and most importantly my home life. I work, so that my family can enjoy a good life, it’s an added bonus that I’m quite good at it!

I wish for more of the same for 2020. For everyone.

Hoping to reach my goal weight of anything under 100kg.
Would love to make another visit to Rammy and to see my best friend in Spain.
Lottery win would be nice, not a massive one, just a nice one, share of a rollover.

This is my guide, it's not copied from anywhere, but purely from personal experience. 35 years watching Burnley and other personal stuff. Reading these aspirations of others on this board may be hard. I feel I am in a good place so want to help others and I feel these aims will help you, especially if you are not in a good place. Basically keep your aspirations real and positive.

Give yourself something to look forward too each month. Whether just a little trip somewhere a Train to somewhere fresh or spoil yourself with something nice.

Sleep more. Go to bed earlier. Sleep will happen and helps no end. Put that phone down.

Reduce time with negative people, we all know the type.. The ones who make you recoil when you see them.

Reduce caffeine. It messes with you head. Literally.

Reduce alcohol. See above, an under reported cause of anxiety.

Eat the food you want in moderation. Don't stress about food too much , but eat plenty of natural foods when you can

Reduce watching the news. It's not good.

Reduce overthinking when you can. Do a random new hobby. Or download a good game.

If none of that works then contact me via this messageboard or speak to some one. Never be alone. Always reach out.

Make 2020 your year. Most of it is in you own hands, you just need to believe that and act upon it.

This is my guide, it's not copied from anywhere, but purely from personal experience. 35 years watching Burnley and other personal stuff. Hoping to be accepted onto a Clinical Psychology doctorate training course.

Burnley to still be in the Prem by the time I (hopefully) move back to the North West.
