Maybe 1-4 wasn't all that bad for us?

City just hit the post too.

Puts our performance into some perspective me thinks.

Almost 4 --that was a cracking save from De Bruyne.
Arsenal fans wanted rid of Wenger, they got their wish so it is no good moaning about things.

After all the rubbish that was posted after our City game, players not trying, Dyche a busted flush etc etc, this puts our, admittedly, not brilliant performance into perspective a little more.

I doubt Liverpool will be caught but it's obvious City are so far ahead of the likes of Arsenal and us.

They’re not though. The best team cannot possibly be so far behind the top team.

City though are irresistible when they are playing well. Just a shame that one didn’t go in right on half time, it was stunning.

In my view the current standings are irrelevant. Better players better squad better team. Multiple recent titles

Until liverpool win the league city are the best team in the UK

The current standings might be irrelevant to you but not everyone else. Liverpool are easily the best side in the country at the moment. The current league standings are the only way to measure it.

For all City’s attacking talent it goes to show that at the very top level you can’t disguise a very mediocre defence.

League standings are never irrelevant, they determine who are the best teams. Two points dropped in the last 26 Premier League games tells you who the best team are.

De Bruyne's value must be off the scale.

Liverpool better all round team than City for me. Van Dijk alone is probably the difference. Put him in City's team and it's a different story.

Arsenal are now a mid-table team - about our level and we matched them earlier this season. Looking back we were very unlucky not to have come away with some points from that game.

Then to remember if the “unfortunate” decisions against Wolves and Leicester had gone our way we would be putting the Spurs/ City games into the right perspective.

Shame we're not playing Arsenal until February, knowing our luck they'll have improved by then.

This season must be our best chance of finally beating them in the PL.

The usual suspects may disagree but I maintain that the first half against Arsenal this season showed that we can outplay Arsenal on their own patch (certainly for 45 mins), highlighting both the improvement in our team and the fact that they are in a mess..or certainly much poorer than they were

I have thought that for the past 3 seasons if not 4 but it just doesn't happen-just cast your mind back to the 16-17 season and the luck they had that season

I wouldn't measure how good we may or may not be against Arsenal

They’re shite and have been shite longer than they were great. Far longer tbh.

Strong rumours today that Arteta's taking the manager's job there soon.

Good luck trying to get the likes of Ozil doing the high press.
