Re: Ben Stokes
He’s the best cricketer in the country yes. And a great guy to boot.
But Dina Asher Smith is the best female sprinter in the world and the best we’ve ever had in a world wide sport. So I personally think it’s a travesty she didn't win.

Re: Ben Stokes
I saw him at Durham in his early days, someone said he was an all rounder, good I said "since he can't bowl".
Just shows what I know about cricket and I am very happy to be proved wrong.

Re: Ben Stokes
Stokes was nailed on to win after the WC,but his Headingley heroic's just ensured his victory,i'm Asher smith wasn't 2nd though,i'd have put her ahead of Hamilton,he's a great driver, but it doesn't half help having the Mercedes team supporting him.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 9:12 pmHe’s the best cricketer in the country yes. Re: Ben Stokes
I’m glad he won it but Hamilton is Britain’s greatest sportsman by a long stretch in my opinion. It’s all about opinions but ask anyone in F1 and the majority rate Lewis as being one of the greatest ever
Re: Ben Stokes
Hamilton is a great sportsman. He's won it before. If he beats Schumacher's record I hope he wins it again.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 9:23 pmI’m glad he won it but Hamilton is Britain’s greatest sportsman by a long stretch in my opinion. Re: Ben Stokes
It does beg the question of 'personality'. Perhaps 'achievement' is better.

Re: Ben Stokes
We had some excellent nominees in there but that world cup cricketing win will never be seen again and was at the top of its pinnacle
and then to do that at Headingley just put the cream on it just a shame they retained

Re: Ben Stokes
Not sure what Lewis Capaldi's and Emily Sande's songs had to do with anything sport-related. The time spent listening to them could have been used to actually feature other sports in greater detail eg rugby league. Incidentally, I know nothing about rugby league but I do know that it's incredibly popular and deserved more than a few seconds. (And why feature a little girl on a skateboard who may or may not win something one day?)
