IP Address Blocked- blacklisted

I tried to post from my phone but got this message. I thought I might be banned for something but have posted from a PC.

I got this message - any ideas anyone?

That happened to me last night,i rebooted and touch wood i haven't had any problems today.

And i'm posting on a desktop.

My internet connection has been playing up the last few days so IDK if that might be a factor.

I'm at work - don't think I tried to log on from home yesterday when it happened. Will try this evening.

Unfortunately it’s part of the new security we’ve had to put on the site. We are looking at options.

I had no idea when I saw it but having looked into it, no.

Sounds like it could be some random malware. Have you tried doing a scan with malwarebytes? I recommend that anyway, so I'd download it and do a full scan every now and then.

it's a good piece of software to keep on your PC. It might have been a popup, which has malware on the website.

Happened to me the first day after the site came back but sorted itself out. It's a sad fact of life that such measures are necessary

It's a bit convoluted but if you get the message it gives you a url to go to. If you do that you can click on the list where your ip address is blacklisted. If you do that then you can click on a link to be removed from the blacklist. You have to enter your ip address and some other information but you will be automatically removed.

As Tony says, it's a necessary evil unfortunately to try and keep the hackers at bay. We get hundreds of failed attempts every day for people trying to get into the accounts on this site.

Thanks for the explanation. I understand the need for security so no complaints. It looked very suspect though, hence why I didn't click the link.
