Re: Bournemouth v Burnley - Player Ratings
Pope - 8 claimed everything, really eases pressure
Bardsley 7 solid
Tarky - 8 solid
Meet 8 solid
Taylor 7
Hendrick 6 quiet
Cork 7
Westwood 7 great ball in for the goal
McNeil 6 quiet
Barnes 6
Wood 6
Jay 7
A horrible day to play any football, but to shut out 2 teams in 2 weeks, with neither having a shot on target something has to give attacking wise.
Great 2 wins and a massive boost towards survival, and with bodies coming back slowly no reason why we cant pick up a few more points over Christmas and have a real go in the FA cup.
We will be last on MOTD, but who cares, we've got 3 more points.
Happy Christmas Clatets!
Edit - we wasn't actually last and when they said our game wasn't last so make of that what you will for the Everton v Arsenal game, I turned it off. So we were last on my tele

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley - Player Ratings
Pope 7 Handling on crosses was excellent in the rain and wind, distribution a bit problematic 2nd half but conditions much to blame, otherwise didnt have any saves to make.
Bardsley 7 Played their key man Fraser very well (got quite a lot of help from Hendrick and then Lennon), not showing much going forward but at 34 you cant really risk getting isolated upfield and having to sprint back.
Tarkowski 8 Very solid in the air and some good interceptions, read the game well, distribution was fine- he didnt try anything too adventurous.
Mee 8 Pretty much as per Tarks
Taylor 8 Solid in defence and got forward a few times to make a pair with McNeil and pose a few problems for them down that side.
Hendrick 7 Supported his full back well and gave it plenty of energy without much in terms of creativity, did probably just what SD asked.
Cork 7 did well defensively and positionally no problems with distribution
Westwood 8 As per Cork but a point extra for assist. Corners weren't as effective as usual but wind couldnt have helped because of variability.
McNeil 6 Caused a few problems and they had to keep a careful watch, got a few decent crosses in but guilty of needlessly giving the ball away a few times allowing them to counter.
Barnes 7 Gave it everything, battled manfully - dished it out a bit and took a bit of stick. Gained a fair few free kicks though we didnt create anything decisive from any of them today.
Wood 6 Not quite as effective as Barnes but worked hard, faded away towards the end.
Lennon 7 Helped out in defence and offered a bit more going forward that Jeff (though "fresh legs" probably played a part in that). He certainly didnt hide & looked up for it. Good sub by SD. (As was JRod of course).

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley - Player Ratings
Pope 7 - very good at claiming crosses (as usual) add taking pressure off the defence. Although conditions didn't help, kicking was poor
Beardsley 8 - did well to keep Fraser quiet. Tried to support on the wing when he could
Mee 8 - solid display
Tarks 8 - like Mee, solid. MOM
Taylor 7 - good display. Couple of crucial clearances.
Hendrick 5 - OK in parts, helped out defensively but parts of the game passed him by
Cork 6 - did OK without ever overly imposing himself
Westwood 6 - engine was going as always and the odd decent setpiece/cross
McNeill 5 - one or two crosses from tricky positions but lost the ball a couple of times in our own half, enabling them to attack; all part of the learning process
Barnes 5 - struggled a little, mainly due to the lack of service and support. Gap between midfield 4 and front 2 was way too big.
Wood 5 - see above
J Rod 7 - tireless running (which you would expect from a sub) and an extra point for taking the only chance of the game
